Quoted from Williampinball:

Is there a place where I can find out where all the TAFG are they made 1000 of them in 1994

Some machine locations here

Earlier today something happened on my TAF machine where the bear ramp now only feeds to the left side and never crosses across to feed the right. It's made it far too easy to keep shooting the ramp from the left flipper, have it feed down the left side, then shoot the ramp again with the left flipper again. The Thing Flips and Two Bear Ramp lights just blink and neither of those are in effect. Thing never flips and you don't get the Bear Ramp counts for the shot. After 10 shots you are collecting 10M per shot over and over again. I've turned it off and on a few times without any change. Any idea what is causing this? My sons are dangerously close to taking my Grand Champion title away!

It’s the diverter on the left ramp, look for the cut out in the ramp on the left side..
check in solenoid test that the diverter is activating. If it doesn’t, check no wires have come off from the underneath..

Go from there
Also think the coil only activates when you get Thing Flips.. so solenoid activates to pull the diverter in.. if it’s not returning could be the spring on the mech that returns it to its original position has come off..

Besides me selling this pin for 2 cents over the frustration of it not working correctly, can anyone put up a suggestion on when thing Picks up the ball, how to cleanly get it to the swamp. I am at whits end. Mainly because I can’t see the issue.
I have cleaned things box, I had a nut on the aft outboard corner former owner put it so the screw would not punch through the playfield on the playfield side of the box. I thought that added an odd angle and messed with the ball so I removed it. Same issue. About 30-50% of the time, if thing picks up the ball, you can hear ball drop in the box, then the kicker goes twice and no ball enters the swamp. If you shove the pin, would tilt if I didn’t pull the plumb bob, them you hear it kick again and the ball enters the swamp. Sometimes it takes several “hard” shoves to get it there. Not cool.
The switch at the VUK seems ok. Or is it? I raised the playfield angle using PinGuy’s app of the playfield from 6.5-6.8-7.1 and always have the issue.
Please enlighten me on a solution otherwise this pin that I loved to play will be gone. Wish I had a borescope to see what the ball is doing.
Thank you

It sounds like ball hang up in the Thing metal box under playfield. Have you taken this off?

I had a similar issue- resolves it by, when screwing the box back on, pushing up slightly (towards the roof) and then screwing it tightly, this gave a better alignment on the exit hole on the thing box.
Also have you tried new balls? Maybe yours are magnetised and so they may be sticking in the box?

Over time, where the ball drops in, it creates divots in the metal. Take off the box and gently hammer them back.

Probably has been discussed here before, somewhere, but how many TAF are out there, in private or public locations. 22,270 TAF were made, but how many went on the scrap heap after they had had made the $$$$

Would you say that 5000, 6000 have been destroyed? Or more..

Quoted from Shredder565:

Just make sure the marker is working. Had him sign my MJF Lloyd photo, and you can barely see it . was a little disappointed, but I wasn't about to tell him .

He started to sign the Translite, and the gold sharpee was running out, he got as far as the “h” that’s why the Ch looks a little funny, he went back over it with a new one.

Rumour going round was that this was Christopher Lloyds last signing - at least in the UK.. but was just something going round.

People were getting more things for him to sign. At £110 a signature, fortune was made.

I’ve taken quite a few of my translites to shows and Comic Cons to get signatures from film stars of pinball designers.

I won’t mix the 2 tho.
