Quoted from Miguel351:

Gomez actually says that. He also says, "It has to warm up........So it can kill you!!"

Is that only on the TAFG ROMs? If so, I may have to switch.

Care to share how to do it? Is it just an LED attached to the bottom of the PF? Just not sure how it works.

You attach an LED socket (two for the chair, yellow and red) under the playfield. You then solder wires to the new socket on one end and the yellow/red chair lights on the other.

You can also use connectors for a cleaner installation. This also makes it easier to remove the chair (or whatever) down the road.

If it is in as good a shape as it appears from the pics, that's a decent price. Looks clean, cabinet in good shape and only minor mansion insert wear.

I have been in the club for a couple years now. I bought mine from a Pinsider. It was already in great shape, but I had a friend touch up the mansion area and reclear it, I rebuilt the pops, etc.

Quoted from mrgregb123:

Yes, the trick is to mount the LCD screen higher than normal. This allows clearance for the original THING light board. Then you just go into the ColorDMD settings and move the screen area down so it fits properly into the backbox screen opening. Good to go. This is how ColorDMD told me to do it. Works perfectly.

Wow, that must be new advice. That sounds way easier than what I did, using instructions that are still on colordmd.com!

Quoted from Durzel:

I imported a mint TAF to the UK, it is all working fine except for a couple of hopefully minor issues...
1. Occasionally when I make a swamp shot I get more than one callout, e.g. "10 million!", "It's Cousin It!", "Mamushka!" one after the other, as if I'd scored them separately, and then it kicks the ball out. It seems to only be the swamp that triggers it, and it doesn't happen every time.
2. Sometimes while the ball is in play, nowhere near the chair or the swamp, I'll get a callout as if I'd scored one of them. This seems to happen rarely, maybe once every 3 games or so?
I'm running the Gold ROMs if that matters.

Just visiting this thread for the first time in a while. I don't know if you ever resolved this. This may be normal. Keep in mind you can also trigger mansion modes with bear ramp shots (15, 25, etc.).

Quoted from EvanDickson:

Swamp will start mansion rooms, same as the chair.

Right. What I'm saying is, if you hit the swamp or chair immediately after spotting the mansion via Bear Kicks, you will get two mansion awards back to back.

The OP also mentioned getting mansion modes without hitting the chair or swamp, which can happen with Bear Kicks.

Quoted from Durzel:

I sortof did. In my naivety I thought maybe a ball was triggering the scoop (chair or swamp) switch multiple times, leading to multiple awards. As in I thought maybe it was a fault of some kind.
Then I realised that didn't make sense as you have to hit the ramp to re-light either of those again anyway.
Ultimately realised that it was the Gold ROMs that had added that semi random mansion room multiples - http://pinball.org/rules/addamsfamilygold.html

Ah, good to know. I've spent very little time with the gold ROMs!

Quoted from fatality83:

I am thinking it was around 5.5 degrees.
Does anyone know what the stars at the beginning and end of the word thing are for and how to light them. I see there is an insert by the red ramp that says light star but it only ever appear to be on for a few seconds before going out. I can't figure out what makes it come on or what the stars even do. Has anyone else figured this out?

I think when you shoot through the pops over, it lights that insert. Then if you hit the Thing ramp from the upper right flipper, you get a star. Stars get you extra points when you complete T-H-I-N-G.

There are also 3-way and 4-way combos (I think 4-way is Bear ramp, through the pops, Thing ramp, Swamp from Thing flipper).
