Quoted from pinkid:Why does S&S have players 1-4 on the BG at the bottom w/no light provision in the backbox??
Maybe an improperly screened/made/modified backglass? S&S has 1,2,3,4 lights to indicate how many players the game was set for.

Quoted from JeffZee:All I have is the poster, but I stare at it often.
Those posters are quite rare these days.
Quoted from shirkle:Thanks! I'll have to check that out later. The rollovers do need adjusting(the pop bumper triggers them sometimes), but they are definitely scoring more than one no matter what because I've gone over them with my finger and it still does it.
Use diagnostics to verify proper switch operation. Then you'll know for sure. # of balls/game setting may affect this as well.
Quoted from PhilGreg:Does anyone know what the default dipswitch positions are as far as liberal vs conservative settings go? (https://www.ipdb.org/files/2406/Bally_1978_Strikes_and_Spares_Manual.pdf)
Default was 3 ball play, liberal settings.
Quoted from Niall:Can any one name these two components of the top roller over switches and if they have new replacements.
thanks from Niall

Top photo: 1N4004 diode.
Bottom photo: .05 microfarad ceramic disc capacitor. Those appear to be original parts. So, they're 46+ years old.
Quoted from Niall:Do you think i should be changing the diodes as well as the capacitors
No. Clip off one lead of the capacitor and see if it cures whatever the issue is that you are having.....
Quoted from Thunfisch:You may experience that very short hits of targets may no longer be recognized.
Agreed, my suggestion was to help troubleshoot since there was no problem description.
So, bad cap. However, Bally rollover switches are not usually susceptible to issues with a removed cap.
