OK, gonna try to lay this out and see what you guys/gals think.

I've been working on this one off and on for a while. Finally ordered a new MPU and started digging in. PF has already been shopped a while back.

Sometimes when booting, the solenoids are already dead. If it boots and you see the drop bank reset and start a game, the solenoids will die in that game. Might be right away, might be a few minutes, but it happens every time.

Under PF fuse and F4 are fine and do not blow.

Followed Clay's Bally guide. Getting 43vdc at the rectifier test point and pin 6 of J1.

I get 43vdc at the right flipper coil, but not the left or any other coils on the PF. Thinking wiring issue, per the guide.

Checked continuity and all of the coil power wires seem to buzz tone out indicating they are properly daisy chained.

I thought about removing and redoing the power wiring on the right flipper to see if maybe it's a cold solder issue, but even when the coils die, they still buzz tone out for continuity.

A little stumped, so figured I'd check with the experts.

Thanks, all

What happens during solenoid self-test?

Turned out to be a bad solder joint on that right flipper coil. It wasn't securely soldered to the lug. Fixed it tonight.
