I have a Bally Star Trek, and as we all know, the original boards do not have a free play option.

I got a modified ROM which has the free play mode available, but for some reason, with dip-switches 17, 18, & 19 "on", the game still will not go into free play mode.

Then, I tested my Alltek (version-J) board on Star Trek. I cleared the memory on the board, and set the dip-switches appropriately, and again, no free play. The same Alltek board does free play in my other games no problem.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

When I power on the game, there are "00" on all four displays.

The U6 ROM is a 2732 - the same type that was installed when I purchased the game.

If the displays read "00", do I not have the free play version? My Mata Hari and Eight Ball show "02" on the player 1 display after start-up.
