Any advice on how to get the #47 bulbs to seat better in the thumper bumpers? Bally SS machine. I think the bulb settings are stretched over time. I tried adding a tiny bit of solder to the side base of the bulbs in attempt to get a better fitting. Haven’t tried yet. Any ideas?

They were hopeless when brand new!

I would replace them with a soldered in LED board. I don't know what's available out there but there will be plenty of options.

I would suggest using a type 555 wedge base socket. Sans that:
Bend upward the bottom flange of the socket. When you install the lamp, stop short of allowing the peg to seat in the divot. Add just a tad, about 1/4" of solder to the bottom of the lamp base.

You can bend the socket with pliers to help it hold the bulb in. Almost too tight where you can't easily slide it in will hold it the best. Talking about the top part that grips the bulb sides, not the bottom part.

Thank you all for the feedback and advice.
Tonight I addressed the thumper bumpers.
I used a needle nose pliers to bend the upper part of the socket. I also added a drop of solder to the lamp base. Looks great! Thanks to you all !!!!
