I just fixed my Centaur S&T recently with no sound, problem was -5v was not correct. I had the correct number of flashes but still no sound. Swapped the regulator and all sounds were back again.

I chased my tail around with chip swapping and eventually realized I had not tested -5v. Of course I didn't have the proper regulator on hand so I swapped the one from 8BD to test.
