I'm getting 4.1v at TP1 on the regulator board. The supply: unreg 11.9v at TP5 is low at 11.3v ... but this shouldn't matter, right? The 5v regulator should take care of that I assume. I replaced every component in the regulator circuit, (5v regulator, resistors, caps) but still 4.1v persists. I even disconnected all other connectors but J3 on the reg board. Could this be ground related... is there a ground mod I should have done on the boards? Or perhaps is this really related to the low 11.9v?

The reg board is an AS-2518-22

Good grief. Thanks. I pulled pin 12 (the 11.9v input) and found the worlds worst crimp job. Crimped a new end on, and we've got 5v.

Now it's flaky on the flashes. Sometimes it will come up. More times than not, it won't. And when it does come up, it'll coin but won't play. Probably more bad pins..... I'm off on the hunt!

I do usually do that, not sure why I didn't start there. Been away from pinball too long I guess, arcade machines hooked me lately. I also did the ground mod and the jumper mod. And ground linked all the boards to the bonding strap. My intermittent boot problem was a bad RAM socket.
