Looks like a homebrew hack for the GI circuit.

Quoted from ElCid95:Anyone ever had their game lock up, emit a long tone and then reset randomly? My game has been doing this as of late. When the tone is being played, only the GI lights and all the lights in the backbox with exception of the strobing lights are on. It has an Altek MPU board that came with the game when I got it last year.
I would make sure the +5 regulator circuitry is stable.
From the transformer through the voltage reg. solenoid
driver board down to the input to the cpu.
FWIW:
Upper right flipper assembly rebuilt.

Main power harness repaired.

Next, the voltage regulator board repair and adding missing components.
a) correct try wraps to filter capacitor and high voltage standoffs.
IMG_0002[1] (resized).JPG
b) bad transistor Q9.

c) tools to amend flaws to pcb board.

&
IMG_0005[1] (resized).JPG
d) finished amendments.
IMG_0006[1] (resized).JPG
e) finished board.

Now onto the transformer assembly.

note: pin one of playfield connector burned off board.
IMG_0012[1] (resized).JPG
a) fixing playfield connector with a small metal "strap".
IMG_0013[1] (resized).JPG
b) amending power wiring.
IMG_0014[1] (resized).JPG
c) cleaned wood mounting board.
IMG_0001[1] (resized).JPG
d) remounting transformer assembly.
IMG_0002[1] (resized).JPG
e) fitting cover cage.
IMG_0003[1] (resized).JPG
f) final fitting of cover cage and power amendment.

Now back to the client and hope it all works.
Cheers!
Quoted from Pinball4Rob:Good afternoon. I have 2 issues with my machine.
1 The coil on the coin door keeps humming and randomly activates.
2 I can't get the missile sound to work with the flippers.
Any help would be great.
Thank you
Flipper snd switch's are wired in parallel...
Check for broken wire on switch strobes and /or bad 1n4148 diode.
Or there might be a snd "off" switch on the cpu.
Quoted from Pinball4Rob:Got the sound with flippers working.
Still trying to figure out the coin lockout coil on the coin door.
The relay coil normally has a buzzing sound.
The small spring on the outside of the assembly can be missing?
The coin lockout coil de-energizes when at max. credits.
Quoted from Mk1Mod0:Lots of time with a sharp xacto for me. Even well done the rollover would not set flush. Makes for a lot of concerning air balls.[quoted image]
I sacrificed a new white star button, and used it as a guide to help
clean out the clear coated inserts. I would make sure I could insert the button 360 °
around each insert... I's a pain!
Quoted from mrossman5:Thank you, using a pair of players I was easily able to get them out.
Who where the players?
Quoted from mrossman5:disable the mothership/mystery ship sound?
Sadly no.. need new roms and program.
Quoted from jetmechinnc:Is there a recommended pitch for this pin? Currently I just have the leg adjusters screwed all the way in and the game is level side to side. I wasn’t sure if it should be 3.5 like the 60s and 70s games with the legs levelers screwed in, 5 degrees as I have read on some late 80s games, or modern pins at around 6.5 degrees. Or is is just personal preference. I did not notice a recommendation in the manual.
Thank you,
With 3" back leg levelers, the basic level would be halfway to start. Then you can adjust
for a high degree angle or less... Williams in the 1980's started the 6.5° pitch for their games.
