Had her sitting at 340 with the 80 shot left and bricked it. Would have been my high score all time. Even recorded the 80 shot to prove it, but missed terribly :/
My high score and my buddy’s high score remains 400.
Love the Skill Derby and am looking to collect all of the Bally games from that era.
I know Lite A Diamond was referenced earlier in this thread. If anyone hears of the other Bally Skill games for sale, please let me know.
Well it took a little while but I now have all four Skill games known to exist.
Skill Score and Skill Parade showed up last night. Both in nice working condition. I also have a skill roll and a novelty skill derby. I plan to upgrade to derby deluxe soon.
Quoted from DennisDodel:Nice collection. All you need now is a SkillShot. https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=5722
Let me know if you’d ever sell the Skill Shot. Looks cool.
Apparently, I am starting the “Skill Fan Club.”
I also have a blank check waiting for the unicorn known as Lite-A-Diamond.
Quoted from LarryB:Cyberninja, I sold my Lite A Diamond to Tim Arnold many years ago. Check with him. I know he needs $5,000,000 for HOF. He may do a deal
$5,000,000 huh?
Is shipping included in that price?
Quoted from edward472:I've gotten crazy and offered $3,000, my first born son, and my right nut. Guy passed saying my son was too loud. I've got to talk to the wife about making another quieter child.
Haha!!
Solid effort
Greetings Skill Roll fans.
I am kicking around selling my Skill Score, Skill Parade, and possibly even my Skill Derby.
With these three pieces to go along with your skill roll, you’ll have all four know pieces of the Bally Skill Set (presuming Lite A Diamond doesn’t exist).
My Skill Parade and Skill Score are the deluxe edition while my Skill Derby is the early prototype that does not include the betting odds.
I’m open to selling or trading for newer pins or classic 90s Bally Williams or Stern titles.
I’ll post a few pics below.
PM to discuss.
Thanks.
Had no idea what that 6D tag was for.
The Skill Parade also has matching 322 number in front of play field and also tag in back.
I believe only 500 were ever made and I’m confident my Skill Parade is number 322/500.
Here’s a question I have:
How many of these still exist?
Maybe a handful?
Wow. It does exist. Incredible.
I decided to keep the 4 skill games I have and would absolutely love to have this game to complete the collection to have all 5.
Again, wow!
Quoted from MrBally:I believe there is/was one of those at JoDeans Restaurant in Yankton, South Dakota. I haven't been there in 4 or 5 years now.
Maybe Tom Brokaw played it in his younger days.....
I just called there and they said they’ve never had anything like that.
Are you 100% sure they had a lite a diamond there?
Quoted from MrBally:I recall a Bally Spinner and a Bally Skill Roll there. I remember that the Skill Roll had a different bottom half of the playfield. Maybe it was not "Lite a Diamond", Were there other variants? I would go to JoDeans for lunch once or twice a year as I would travel to Yankton for business.
The restaurant is very casual with a decent lunch buffet. They have some antique cars and buggies on display inside as it is a large building. There were some older video games and redemption machines along with some old EM amusement games and kiddie rides.
I inquired about buying the Spinner as I really wanted one. The cashier said none of the stuff is for sale. At any price. This was probably fifteen years ago. I continued going there until I retired from my job a few years ago, but I never bothered looking for the machines again since I was shut out before. The Skill Roll and Spinner were crammed in with several other machines off to the side and were not plugged in.
I used to eat at a Ponderosa or Bonanza right down the road with customers as they liked the Ponderosa/Bonanza. Then one time they said it now sucks (Imagine that) so they suggested JoDeans and We went there ever since.
This sure is interesting. The gentleman I talked to over the weekend, who claimed he had been there for a while and specialized in the antiques, remembered a spinner game but that was it. He also said anything they had currently in the inventory connected to the wall. I’d love to know if the Lite A Diamond that Arnold has potentially came from JoDean’s in Yankton? It sure appears to me that Lite A Diamond is simply a Skill Roll prototype with Diamond shots on the bottom, but identical Skill Roll play up top.
For what it’s worth, I personally find this Wildly fascinating. For years, Gutz and I discussed Lite A Diamond. I didn’t believe it existed. However, now that we can see that it exists, we can put that discussion to bed. A part of me wishes it was an entirely different game versus a variance of Skill Roll, in my opinion.
Still, pretty damn cool.
Quoted from cait001:Lite-A-Diamond would hit $10k
Skill-Roll I would say $3-4k
I own all 4 Bally skill games and would just love to have lite a diamond to complete the collection. I’d be a serious player if lite a diamond ever went to auction.
That being said, I wouldn’t pay anywhere close to $10K for it.
Good Luck on the sale Neo.
Free Bump.
I always enjoy looking at the subtle differences with these machines. My Skill Parade appears to have a slightly different marquee and also does not have the Amusement Only marking in the lower left. Good Luck on the sale!
