That's a redemption version of Skill Parade, not Skill Roll. Still kind of cool.
Someone on pinside has a modern solid-state version of Skill Roll, I saw in their gameroom pics...

Yeah I thought the price was a mistake, but I wasn't taking the time to ask any questions.. Quite a few guys messaged me with some serious offers.

Still looking for (now) 4 gulmite screws, size #10 of course. Let me know if anyone has extras to sell. Thanks

*It was mentioned here, or in another thread, that old Eprad drive-in movie speakers used #10 gulmites, but I can confirm those #10s actually have different threads. Close but no cigar.

#412 83 days ago

Do you NEED a gulmite driver if you own one of these? Im trying to figure out if there is a good reason to justify the purchase one of these stupid expensive drivers?

No. You need the driver to take the handle off the shaft, but you can also leave them together and take the shaft+handle out of the machine with a normal socket from the inside.

Awesome. Thank you. That's what I was hoping to hear after seeing the prices on a #10 gumlite.

My gulmite screws were all stuck. I slotted them with a dremel and removed them with a flat blade screwdriver. I replaced them with a shiny pan head screw that uses a hex bit. They look great unless you are doing a 100 percent restoration.

Did you ever gets your 100% working Russ?

Glad you finally got it working.

Social isolation project - can someone please provide the dimensions of the cabinet itself (not the hard wood bezel on the front)?
Thanks!

If no one gets to you first, as soon as mine is here, I'll get you measurements and anything else you need. But unfortunately it's stuck where it is until Bob Cunningham starts up his route again.

I should be able to measure tonight. Are you sure you dont want C to go down to the base of the ledge?

There's a Skill Roll on ebay right now (ebay.com link » Bally Skill Roll)

It has a really weird all red bezel glass...is this homemade or an original variant?

Of course it's in Wisconsin. I've seen the red backglass on a couple of games. Curious to see how high it goes.

#428 42 days ago

Hey I'm in Middleton, a lot of the time anyway. I could pick up and store if anything like that's needed.

Boy you said it...it's always Wisconsin. That's where I had mine shipped from as well.

I bet it goes for around 2500, maybe more.

Just picked one up.

It is super clean considering the age. I'll need seal the backglass as it is flaking a bit. Even had all the paperwork including the warranty certificate and 2 extra tacs.

CAn you make a copy of the schematics?

#436 39 days ago

Here is a copy of the schematics- this is from the IPDB. I took this file to a print shop(Fedex printing) and a black and white was $5 for a full size print.

So I have a question, there were all of 3 bulbs present in the game, 407 and 37. Are these correct, or would I be better off changing the sockets to use leds?

I just installed a new plexi sheet, the old sheet had two small chunks out at the top two screws, otherwise does anyone have a need for an old one?

Did you get the Plexi sheet from eBay? Curious as mine isn't bad but I considered getting a new one. I didn't as someone locally got one and stated they had to modify it a fair amount to get it to fit / line up properly.

What was your experience?

I am not sure that was real. The price started off at $80K, then it was $800. They never even replied to me.

I did, it is the same guy from Klov I think?, and I got it off him directly from klov.

It lined up 99% for screw holes. I had to open up 1 hole more to match the pf. Mine was pretty beat and even with some small modifications, it is nice having a clear sheet.

After a few polite messages, I got her to confirm it actually was sold. I asked if she got a lot of interest and no response. I was surprised so many others saw it with such a strange title.

One on Ebay, it's sitting at $2,000. One just got bought by PBEarwood a couple of posts up. And the one you posted makes 3.

#449 38 days ago

I’m the one selling them on EBay.
Have had really good feedback thus far. If your interested in one shoot me a pm.

Ok, I have a "dumb" question. I haven't had a need to remove my front glass out of my game for a few years. Tried today and couldn't budge it. I removed the top wooden part and then tried to lift it straight up, as that's how I remember removing it before. It seems to be wedged/locked on the left side (as you face the game). I honestly can't see anything holding it in place but I also don't want to force it. I suspect that I've had a bit of wood swelling over the years even though it's in an environmentally controlled basement, and that it's not moving because of that. However, I want to make sure I didn't forget something obvious that's holding it in place besides the top wooden piece.
