Hello guys, I have had this game sitting in the shed for the last 23 years and have finally got it up and running. I have replaced both the rectifier and MPU boards. I have had it running but after a couple of days the playing lights aren’t working as they used to. The lights don’t cycle in sequence as they used to and tend to flicker with some staying on.....any ideas?....lamp board module....earthing problems....seems to be the scoring lights rather than the illumination ones....thanks

    Welcome to Pinside!
The light sockets are poor on this era of Bally. Header pins often need to be done but since you've replace the MPU maybe not.

Cool thanks for that I will make a start there and see if that solves my problem

By the looks of the displays on the backless you likely have connection problems. Sitting in the shed for 23 years....yeah, corrosion. You could try cleaning the header pins on your MPU but you may end up having to replace them and the female connectors as well.

Just pulled the lamp driver board off and the tracks on the back of the board look like this.....could be an issue...?

    Get a new board.

The lamp driver board doesn't look good, but that is not the reason your (score) displays are weird. Still suggest you check connections between the MPU and displays. That would be connector J1 on the MPU.

touch up the solder on the connectors on the display boards. That should improve the displays. Those tend to crack with time.

Looks like battery acid dripped down onto that board. I had one like that. I did a bunch of re-work to save it. Ebay or Altek if you do not want to put the time into the repair.
