Hi I’d appreciate any input on an issue I’m having with my Bally Night Rider.

Just some background I have rebuilt all connectors and boards installing a new Dash-35 MPU 2 years ago and it has been playing fine.

Having located an NOS playfield I recently did a playfield swap. Including new bulb sockets and bus braided wiring.

After completion I fired it up and had short on the GI bus. I fixed the issue replaced the fuse and fired it up. The issue I cannot resolve is the following:

The game boots fine and coins up and seems to play fine. However when powered up the game will not go into full attract mode. What I mean by this is the back-box does go through attract mode alternating the high score but he playfield does not! What happens is there is no movement of any control lights. In addition if you activate any switch with the exception of the outlines the bonus will advance by one and if you activate the in-line or center target it advance the arrows at the top of the playfield by 5.

I have reviewed all connections multiple times and all looks as it should!

    Any input is appreciated

    Thanks Don

Night Rider was Ballys second solid state release. They hadn't yet built in playfield attract modes, and they hadn't yet thought about ignoring playfield switches in game over mode.

    What you're seeing is normal.

Thanks I suspected that might be the case kind of a relief and disappointment at the same time:/
