Quoted from undrdog:

Someone in California has a Mystic on eBay for $6,000. Blue led displays, cool white LEDs GI, best as I can tell.
Looks like it has the cut out eye, but hard to see in the pics.
Looks like the number has been refinished off of the side.
I was going to say that $6,000 seems high, but if you take a $1,300 playable machine and charge full retail for the recondition job, with shipping included “free”, maybe that’s about right.[quoted image]

That was the one we restored for Greg here is AZ. Def still has the serial numbers on both the body and head EMY1340. Had the 3D Backglass. (pictures of it on the serial number data base submitted before and after the restoration) Auto Clear on the original pf. Not quite a HEP restoration, but got pretty dang close on it if you look at the pictures of the last time it went for sale. Greg found a replacement backglass in even better shape and I got to keep the old one and framed it and had it on the wall at D&D in Tucson for a number of years. Put a purple plasma disc behind. Glad to see that idea got recycled. Seemed like an obvious thing to do for a crystal ball.

Argh. I still need one of those early backglasses without the sticker. Haven't brought myself to pull the trigger on a CPR yet.

#103 2 years ago

I’d love a new mirrored backglass with the cut out. Mine looks great until you notice the issues along the bottom two inches.

Do you know if he got his price for it?

#105 2 years ago

New CPR installed in my Mystic. Original plastics etc. All metalwork hand polished.

Just waiting on some new pop caps to arrive - and for my apron to come back from the powdercoater.

Greg and a later owner had them listed on pinside in the $3000-$3500 range. Doesn't look like it ever went for that $6k ebay listing.

Ah, the Banning Auction price. Theirs went for $3,200, I think. Don’t know the condition.

Hey RD, I know you have good standards for your games. How do you like the CPR mirrored glass?

Dunno! Mine BG is still the original. Still great condition, no flaking.

Only the PF is new.

My motto - if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I have seen the CPR Addams and TZ mirrored BGs though, they looked great.

Aw damn I thought you meant glass. Well, it looks great!

Hi all, new to the pin world and just bought my first machine, Mystic! Any thoughts on what lights to use for the pop bumpers? Led, incandescent and what color? Thx

I’ve got incandescent in mine. Mystic was my first pin, too. Still love it. Underrated by many.

#116 2 years ago

Hi all! I found this...Buyed some years ago and put in wharehouse.
Need a lot of love, but very beautiful pin. Someone have suggestion about playfield? Probably need total restored.
About cabinet, need RAL color for small tweaks, someone have more info?
What I do:
MPU:
Replace mpu with ballyFA
SOLENOID DRIVER:
Restored some transistor (solenoid driver)
SOUND BOARD:
Change capacitor (4700uF) and 9316 sound EPROM with 27c512 (more simple for me for programming). Original sound of this board it was different from real Mystic (similar but uglier) . So I download it from ipdb and now all works good.

Bye bye from Italy

Picked up a Mystic a couple of weeks ago and am in need of the center plastic. Rest of the plastics are in great shape. Anyone have a center plastic or a scan of it? Thanks.

I might. Lemme check.

I can scan it for you but I am out of town until Wednesday

I have one. It is yellow and a little cracked around one of the holes.

Here is a pic of my homemade Mystical crystal ball topper. Inside are white and orange leds, wired to the eye & triangle lamps in the 3D bg insert.

Hello!
Only share my upgrade of my Mystic (you can see old photos on this topic).
Printed directly on wood with UV ink. And after 4 hand of clear coating.
First time I do something like this. I'm very satisfied.

All mechanics are cleaned.
Removed and old lamp holders (many oxidized contacts) also having to add a resistance. So I decided to do it myself with everything integrated.
The original cpu was rotten, so I change with "BallyFA" product. It's work fine!

Nice find. Stainless acorn nuts on the posts instead of the plastic caps would look real good with the mirror backglass.

That looks like it's going to clean up real nice! No playfield wear under all that dirt.
If it weren't for that minor lifting, I'd tell you to start by trading me that back glass because I need one without the sticker.
(And I'd prefer an original)

HAD to spray triple thick on HEAVY with wrap to get it to lay flat enough & stick. Im pleased with the result.

The playfield overhaul is completed.

Going to strip (with environmentally sound means) the lead paint, wood repair & restencil the cabinet, soon. Have most of the supplies. Anyone have suggestions on paint (colors factory matching)?

If you get a CPR glass you don't need the hole

#147 1 year ago

Confirming- the hole is 6.25".

The top edge of the hole starts at 11" from the top edge of the board.

The right edge of the hole starts at 9 5/8" from the right edge of the board.
(It might be a 16th inch less than that- I couldn't measure straight across with a rule held against the board because of wood in the way.)

bigfoot53 Are you going with plasma displays or LED (orange or blue?) ?
