Yep. Short under the BCU / relay board area. Finally found this rascal! And now makes sense after playing several games it must have shaken/moved enough to get it shorted

Searching up logic and checking switches , etc I’m still learning. But throw in some mice damage and you can go down a hobbit hole!

Back to playing again!

Thanks for all the help and time! Case closed

Awesome! And, in the end there is a logical answer which there always is. Did you get a photo of where the short was happening? I’d be curious to see what it looked like. Was it a pinched wire or something like that?

I should add, my MC was pretty filthy and thrashed when I first got it. I spent a lot of time cleaning it up and fixing things, but there are still some ghosts that pop up. I think there may be a similar situation happening in at least one case where there is a problem with a wire somewhere in its path.

I have a photo but it's saying it's file size is too large. let me see what I can do. damn smart phones..lol It was actual mice damage (my guess?) , the cloth covering had been eaten in a few places. I've had "short" issues, but this one took forever to find...thanks again for your help!

I've noticed you, "Baldtwit" and "skidave" are always helping others - kudos and thank you all!

Thanks. There are many more that help more often, but it is a collective effort for sure!

Yes, there are quite a few here that really know their stuff and they are always willing to help. That's how I learned a lot. I really like working on the machines and figuring out how they work, and I also enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting. And, if I can manage to help someone solve a problem, that is gold itself just for the enjoyment of it. I do my best to help with Bally 70s era because that is what I have so that is what I am most familiar with.

Between Skidave and myself, we should be able to handle anything that comes along that involves Bon Voyage!
