I thought I'd share these pictures of a Bally Mata Hari I recently pulled out of someone's garage. It looks almost brand new. When's the last time you saw one of these machines in a condition like this?

That's awesome! Did you have to pay for it? I played Mata Hari at Expo. It was a fun game for its time.
That is not even a restore. There are not "smoke" marks above the backglass lights. The metal under the lockdown bar is nearly perfect. The kickout hole does not look liek a ball has even been in the hole. Best machine i have seen of that age.
Hold onto your hats... want to know what I paid? $200.
It was in some rich guy's house and he clearly wanted it out of his garage. He didn't need the money and didn't care what it was worth. The MPU board was toast and had acid damage, so it didn't boot. And one of the flipper bats was cracked (I still have to replace that - any recommendations on the best source?)
The wild part is, about two months later I went to an auction (I write about it here with pictures: http://pinballhelp.com/talking-too-much/ ) where another Mata Hari was up for sale... this one had rats living inside it and had 3" of rat poop inside the cabinet. It was gross, and the auctioneer sold that one for about $350. I think the buyer had no idea how messed up the game was. After the auction, I showed the buyer a picture of my time capsule game from my phone so he could see what they looked like when new. He gulped.
Hey pbHelp, this is too funny. I just found your BSD "discovery" vids last night on Youtube, and I watched all 36 of them! I enjoyed the whole story. My wife thinks I'm crazy, I watched the last few of them on my iPhone in bed..
Nice Mata Hari by the way, great score for that price. Is it the "writing on the dagger" version?
Missed out on one of these myself, I had a verbal agreement and the guy backed out last minute, I even offered more than we agreed. It had the inscription on the knife...great condition as well, but all boards fried. I'm not positive what it would've been worth, just sad to get excited about a game and have someone back out of a deal. This is a great looking game, enjoy.
That game looks incredible, great find! No wear anywhere!
Quoted from shock_me:Is it the "writing on the dagger" version?
It's not the one with the inscription on the dagger, you can tell by the first pic, great machine though.
