Sounds like a switch matrix issue. If the coils work in test, it's probably not a rectifier board or solenoid driver board issue. Looking at the schematics, the outhole, left drop target "A", saucer, and top left pop bumper switches are all on same row. Are those the ones you're having trouble with? Try testing them in the switch test mode.

EDIT: Oops...didn't read all the way through the thread before commenting. I think your original issue was a switch matrix issue. I agree with Mk1Mod0 that you need to start tracing the power from the transformer and see where the break is.
