hi everyone
helping a fellow pinsider out on a bally mata hari and heres the issue
if connected the Left 2 drop target do random scoring sometimes longer then others just out of nowhere if we take those 2 switches out the random scoring doesnt happen
here is what we have done with the game
the game has a new cpu and all connectors repinned and checked to make sure no loose wires.
both drop targets have new switches and diodes and adjusted correctly. all continuity checked.
games plays great otherwise. any ideas?????????

Take the ball out, reset the targets (connect those questionable switches) and enter switch test. It should reflect "00". Then drop one of the questionable targets and see if the right # shows up. Then check ALL the rest of the switches. Also check switches with one or more of the drop targets in the down position. See if anything odd shows up.

You really think so ???
Why would you think that could be the issue ?? Just curious

Are the drop targets new or original?

Repros were not designed for this style of mech with the switches on the bottom and you will get switch bounce like crazy. Mata Hari did not have a switch debounce routine.

all drop targets are original
the only thing that was replaced was the 2 switchs and diodes on the far left of the left drop target assembly
and these do have the switches mounted on the bottom

So if you drop those targets and bang on the playfield does the score advance?

#9 8 years ago

Yes it does and it gets stuck and keeps advancing and it's longer then other times I know it sounds like a weird problem

First thing I would do is polish all of the switch contacts so they are nice and shiny gold. Usually they are tarnished black.

I was thinking that too but the left 2 switches are brand new if you
Bend the 2 new switches to make it they don't register the game plays fine and all switches register fine in test
