I want to start by thanking MrBally for posting this pic of the Bally plant. I've played a ton of old Bally pins with Bally Man in the apron. I never payed much attention to him. But when I saw this picture, I knew I wanted to do something for may wall.

I think the first game with the ball logo was Future Spa 1979

This has been an off and on project for over 3 years. Just now getting back to it. Nearly done so I thought I'd post now. Definitely a one time deal

I thought Dick Bueschel got it. I remember him advertising it for sale in one of the magazines for $5K about a year before he passed, but not sure if he ever sold it. I could also be remembering another sign, but I’m pretty sure that’s it. Someone told me at one point that Tim Arnold ended up with it, but can’t remember who told me that lol....

Nice ! That logo is really iconic to me. John Q. Public wouldn't know what it is. A lot of great games have this logo on them. My faves for sure. Cool usage of the posts too. Can't wait to see it lit up. Old Ballys are cool.

Bally Technologies, the operating name of Scientific Games that makes Bally and Williams/WMS slot machines in Las Vegas made a model of the "Bally Icon" for the museum inside their Corporate HQ 1 1/2 years ago.
For reference, here is what the illuminated sign looked like at night in 1975. Red, white and green Neon was attached to the back of the sign and the light reflected off of the terra cotta face brick.
Hard to believe I took those pictures 45 years ago.....

Ok. So here he is!
All put together and ready to hang.
He is 47" tall, used 28 blue posts, and 76 little tiny soldering points.
The word "Bally" is just a plain paper print from my computer. When the country opens back up, I will have it printed on vinyl and stick it on.
Will get final lit up pictures posted after he is hung on the wall

I drove with John Popadiuk somewhere (Michigan? Maybe Canada?) to pick that up from whoever he bought it from. Sorry I don't remember much more than that, but that was a very long time ago! Somewhere, maybe PgJ, there is an article about the adventure. The neon was all broken up in it but JPop had a neon shop at the time and was planning to rebuild it.
I heard years later that he had sold it (I can only imagine someone made him a stupid big offer for it, and he needed the money) so I don't know where it is now.
Fine job by the OP on recreating it!

Just added this to the Bally Factory photos thread. As I'm going through stuff, I found this almost perfect pic of the Bally Icon backlit in Neon at night. I took this one with a 35 mm camera on a tripod with either Kodak Ektachrome or Fujichrome 100 color slide film which I processed myself. Date is likely 1976 or '77.
