I’ve been trying to get my Bally Knockout project. I’m still trying to get it to startup completely. It was getting to the score reel reset, now I can get it to the ball in play step, however if I have a ball in the out hole it shuts off at that point, if not it shows ball in play 1 and stops there. Any thoughts

If power to the machine is turning off during the reset process, there might be a coil or solenoid that is burnt out or shorted out. Check the outhole kicker solenoid to see if it's operating properly. You can also check the ohms rating of the solenoid with a multimeter.

After more troubleshooting I noticed that the outhole switch was sparking during the reset process and the kicker itself barely fires before shutting off. I had a replacement for the one coil but not for the kicker itself, but that didn’t solve problem so I guess I need to order a replacement for the other one. If I test it with a multimeter, what should I look for.

Also does anyone know what the first switch assembly is for, it is not labeled?

You can track down unlabeled relays on the schematic by coil number and switches, in this case it would say "1A, 1C" which means 1 NO and 1 M/B. Speaking of schematics, do you have a high quality scan you can post?

This is the best I can do without running to kinkos

I’ve traced the problem to the ball count unit, it just keeps running when there is a ball in outhole. Not sure what the problem is. Here are some pictures that might help someone solve the problem

Cleaned and reassembled everything now it kicks ball out and shows ball in play 1 but there is no power to the Playfield other than the lights. Now what should I look for.

The common power wire to the playfield. Trace from transformer to playfield bus. Likely a switch on the Game Over or Tilt Relay. Or a Jones Plug. Can't rule out a cut or desoldered wire anywhere on a project game though.

I just bought a knockout machine that is not working, Does the schematics for this game show the score motor and the switches for it.
