KISS
Bally, 1979I've got a Bally Kiss, I've installed ultimate mpu, and all other boards check out.
The game boots, I can add credits, but as soon as I push the start button , it tilts. Plays rock and roll all nite. But is tilted. I've checked the plumb bob, the roller tilt, all of the slam switches, I am dumbfounded.
Anyone know where to check next?

The Ceramic cap
On the tilt is shorted
Cut 1 Side off
If solves your issue your good
Or replace the cap

The tilt switch is where the ceramic cap is at.
The schematic doesn't show a capacitor in the matrix diagram

Glad it worked out
Now that this occurred chances are other caps will slowly fail as well
Pops / Targets etc
So abnormal behavior could also be result of a failed cap

Any reason to buy/install the Ultimate MPU in my Bally KISS machine if everything currently works? Does it actually play music?

The Ultimate MPU board is a functional replacement of the Bally MPU board. Other than providing freeplay option, it will not make the game do anything different than it already does. It doesn't have any new game enhancement features.
For the best sound settings make sure you have dip switches 8 and 32 on the MPU board set to ON.
