You might be able to wiggle the whole frame a bit to adjust it if you loosen the wood screws, but bending the kicker arm is fair game too. I'd make adjustments based on where the ball goes when it's kicked rather than how centered the kicker arm looks. Make sure the ball isn't hitting the sides or top of the trough on its way to the shooter lane.

I was looking at your coil stop and it looks loose? ...

I snapped a pic of mine ( I just got it home but not setup) and noticed a spring washer in there

The parts manual shows a spring washer but on the other end of the coil than mine https://online.fliphtml5.com/vrtyz/axun/#p=118

I don't exactly know the purpose of the thing , I suppose the coil stop could be worn as well and guess you could compare it with the one for the top saucer or swap them as it gets less use.

The lugs on my coil are oriented differently as well I dunno if that matters either.

If I take the apron off, how would I know if it's hitting the top?

Oh wow this is interesting! Could you mark your spring washer on your photo? When you say coil stop, do you mean the plunger? What is the top saucer? Sorry I'm a beginner, I need a little more explanation...

My "spring washer" http://www.pbresource.com/KT-BFLIP04.html#Not is between the "coil stop" and the coil circled in the pic. ( I think the manual lists it as the "core plug assembly") https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-613-30

NOTE: the coil stop on the Pinball resource page is different to the one on your kicker , the Marco one is the right part

The parts manual lists it a being placed between the "coil bracket" and the coil https://online.fliphtml5.com/vrtyz/axun/#p=118

When I first considered comparing the coil stop you have on your outhole kicker to another one I was thinking of the free-ball gate but looking at it it was different, screw spacing was different.

The top saucer spots the #5 when lit in the upper playfield the 2 mechanisms are similar and have the same coil stop the manual lists it as the "skill kickout"

your spring washer may be installed between the coil bracket and the coil properly on my top saucer it seems to be there but difficult to see.

Thank you so much!
You were right, my coil was loose! I tightened the two screws at the very left and it's still a tiny bit loose but the kicker kicks out the ball immediately almost every time now. It still slips a bit. But a huge improvement!

My spring washer is located on the right side of the coil as indicated in the catalog. To me it looks like a slightly warped thin washer.

Next steps? New spring washer? New coil stop? I think my coil has a metal sleeve...

BTW my #5 ball kicker at top is used quite often. Maybe I have a different angle on my machine...?

In my image the coil stops are from a Gottlieb machine but the height comparison is what I want to point out

You can compare the upper & lower kicker to see if one has more "mushrooming" than the other or even swap them

Your spring washer should be fine and you have an appropriate description of the little bugger

I still have the brass coil sleeves but replacing that may help if you feel drag on the plunger

Game is in add-a-ball mode. Extra ball is awarded for each hi score. When game reaches high score, Shoot Again light goes on. Ball continues to play on field (same ball) and the next high score is reached. And maybe even the next one. However, after ball drains and is shot from shooter lane, Shoot Again light goes out. So only one extra ball is awarded per play (per ball) even though there should be two or three. Can I fix this?
