Hey everyone,
I am looking for advice on replacing this Bally emblem and had a hell of a time finding anything comparable online. I found the exact replacement and ordered it only to have the order cancelled stating the item was out of stock. I found another replacement, but it's a custom made and thicker version of the emblem. Also, It only came in single colors with different grades of plastic. I bought the black with the idea of buying some chrome tape to place on top and x-acto knife out the cursive logo. Still this is not ideal and I have yet to get the tape.
Another issue I ran into was trying to get the rivets out that were holding the emblem/logo in place. I haven't sought advice from people I know about it yet, but I do know the key I have to the top part of the cabinet doesn't work and the screws on the very top are either all rusted/stripped. Nothing I have in my tools and I have a lot of different tips for my screwdriver worked to properly remove them to get the face of it off to remove the rivets from the inside.
Let me know if you know of a better way to try an replace this and how I can get these rivets out. I currently have the new emblem attached with velcro taped behind it. Once I get the rivets off, the current plan is to add the chrome tape to it, cut it in and attach it with new rivets. I attached two photos of the melted/destroyed embelm that came on it and one photo of it's current status with the replacement.
BTW - I bought my replacement here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/G2PHAKXLY/bally-badge?optionId=97791387
I found an old thread with the same issue, but the site suggested for a costly replacement is no longer valid: https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/threads/bally-logo-plate.35865/
Thanks everyone!
