The short answer is no, that switch is not correct.
When you attach the green wire to the coil on the door, you are activating it, which is the noise you here. When that coil is energized, it allows the machine to accept coins. If you're set for free play, you don't need it energized. If this is for home use, leave it disconnected - saves a bit of power.
If you don't have the machine on free play, go into the settings and set the first level for a free game on points to 10,000 (Or as low as it will go, but not zero), then put four credits on the machine. Since almost everyone can get 10K points, you will always get a free game to replace the one you used.
