Looking for some help on alignment of drop targets on a Bally Playboy. I’m not sure where they should be aligned, both front and back as well as height.

I'm doing a playfield swap, and based on where i installed the drop target bank, I’m worried the ball may wear on the from edge of the drop target bank / playfield. Are they too far back in the channel?

Also, the drop targets I used are just a retangle on the top. Looking online, it looks like some have a ledge on the top. Is one better than the other? Does it matter? I’m not sure what I should be aligning on.

It doesn’t look like there’s any kind of adjustment in the mech. Any guidance on drop target banks in general would be appreciated!

I'd be surprised if you can get them to fall in gameplay with them aligned that far back. I'd move them forward a bit. I doubt you're going to see appreciable wear in home use though. The original spec for the targets on playboy is the tombstone style you have installed. The ones with the lip are called flattops and are intended for games that have inline or single drops where the ball needs to roll over them.

You can try and make the mounting holes a little longer to get some leeway in the drop bank otherwise it's pretty much a one and done unless you want to fill and drill new holes.

These are called, tombstone style targets. They were the norm before inline targets came out and a flat running surface was needed for the ball to roll over.

Just wondering where you got the custom Playboy targets? I'm looking for a customized set for my Power Play but have not had success finding them.

Marco shows them with the original design. Did Bobby Orr have an original design other than the bullseye?

Install that target bank into your old PF and note the position there. The CPR holes could be off. If so, fill the CPR provided PF holes with glue and toothpicks and drill new mounting holes. It wouldn't surprise me they are off. I did a PB from CPR and the with the shooter rails installed in the pre-drilled holes, the ball wouldn't reach the top! I ended up sending them a used PB PF to correct dimpling errors.

This.
Go ahead and install the starposts and rubber above the PF behind the drops so you don't move them too far the other way!

And I hope we don't need to have a talk aboot pink GI? hoping just reflections

Well, my wife surprised me for 2019 Xmas with this basket case pin as a project machine. She wanted Pink lights, so she gets the pink lights

I can move it forward. Sounds like the tombstones need to be close to the front lip then?

They all do. Take a look at this awesome picture, if you put starposts in and rubber on them, there probably wouldn't be enough room for the drops to even come up.

Not the best pics but hope they help - looks like you need to move the bank forward.
