Ok I know this piece isn’t rocket science but I can’t keep this flap in its place. I get it all set up and when I touch the flap as if I’m reaching in to retrieve a coin the flap falls out of place and gets stuck. What’s the secret to setting this up right?

Also using a new skin that I got from Marco

Does anyone know of any exploded diagrams of the early Bally coin doors so I can see if I'm missing a part that helps retain the flap?

The straight coin door skin is the only thing that holds in the flap. If your coin door is curved inward or bashed in, the flap will continue to fall out.

The straightness of the door is important.

Yes. The Bally "Novelty Front Door" parts booklet.

I'm using a new skin though. It lays as flat as can be and from what I can tell the piece that holds the coin drop casting is straight and is laying flush against the new skin.

Ok well, at least I know now that there isn't anything else to this. I'll try bending the plate that holds the casting convex against the straight skin and maybe thatll help

Well I decided to make a hinge of sorts out of a paper clip. Wrapped a small piece around both sides and it’s staying in place perfectly now. Probably not the most accepted hack in the pinball community but what the hell it works. Now the door is ready for when I finish stenciling the cabinet.
