My son and I were having a discussion tonight or the best Bally classics, thought we would create a poll.
Lets just say we have different ranking

#2 2 years ago

in no particular order, Fathom, Centaur, Eightball Deluxe

#3 2 years ago

Harlem Globetrotters!

These plus Skateball. Probably Flash Gordon next.

never played Skateball, but Flash Gordon and Medusa come second

#6 2 years ago

I feel like you're missing some...

#7 2 years ago

I vote Paragon!

#9 2 years ago

Vector, great game, very hard multiball.

#10 2 years ago

I am curious.

How did SuperSonic join the list?

Its one of my son's favorite games

Agree, we have one, very satisfying getting 3 balls locked.

#14 2 years ago

Flash Gordon followed very closely by Centaur then Fathom.

#15 2 years ago

What's the definition of Bally classic?

There are limits on how many entries you can have in a poll. Unfortunate, because yes, it leaves out some great games.

So just going by this list, EBD. Althhouh to me Fathom was a close second.

Outside the list, we have Harlem Globetrotters, Mats Hari, Eight Ball, Evel Knievel, and many others. I just love .me some classic Bally games.

Games on the 6800 CPU platform?

#18 2 years ago

Well, there's Embryon too - but they only made 2,250 of them, so not many people got the chance to play one.

#19 2 years ago

FG
EBD
Fathom
Centaur
SKATEBALL

#20 2 years ago

Kinda off the beaten path but I am partial to Elektra and Fireball 2.

#21 2 years ago

Night rider???? I'd rather see paragon, SBM or Lost World.

#22 2 years ago

So many great titles from that era, some of my favorites:
EBD
Playboy
Centaur
Evel Knievel
But since we're talking about classic Bally and not necessarily solid state, what about the one that started it all?
Captain Fantastic?
My favorite as a teenager and probably what got me started in a life long career of pinball machines.

#23 2 years ago

I am partial to my Harlem Globetrotters!

None of the above because it's Harlem Globetrotters, the best no-nonsense six-digit Bally ever made.

#25 2 years ago

for me

Centaur
Viking
Paragon
Medusa
Skateball

are all likely top 5

so many great games

#26 2 years ago

Six Million Dollar Man, Dolly, and HG are all brutal games. If the theme was better, they would be considered more as classics as well.

#27 2 years ago

surprised Flash Gordon and Fathom didn't receive more love

keep the votes coming in

#28 2 years ago

Night Rider! Ha just kidding...as the poll shows it's really hard to go against 8 Ball Deluxe.
But Fathom, Flash Gordon, & Centaur are close. So many good ones.

#29 2 years ago

Here is a picture of my Bally line up, sans Centaur 2.

EBD eeks out the win for me. It just has that one more game more then the others which have that too just not as much.

EBD
Flash Gordon
Fathom
Paragon
Harlem
Mata Hari
Skateball
Embryon
Hot Doggin
Centaur
8-Ball
Medusa

In that order.

You old fart.

#33 2 years ago
Quoted from dasvis:

You old fart.

Not that old.

But when you grew up playing Ballys in the 70s and those games don't seem that old now, that is definitely a classic.

#34 2 years ago

I defy anyone not to read that Ballyhoo flyer blurb in Old Timey Strong Bad's voice.

#35 2 years ago

For me it's:
Fathom
Frontier
Hotdoggin
Flash Gordon
Paragon
EBD
Skateball
Harlem G
Viking

#36 2 years ago

Need more votes.

#37 2 years ago

EBD is my favorite for game play. I think the art is average and sounds are horrible but it's still the best from that era. Spectrum deserves some respect and should be on this poll.

Ain't that the truth. Kids marvel over stuff from the 1970's & '80's like it was ancient history.

I sometimes forget about Embryon, which is crazy because I owned it for 4 years. That was a fun game. Not as great as some others, but wonderful.

As you should be. That thing is beautiful.

80s games still seem pretty modern to me especially the Ballys. The rest of 80s culture, not so much. I was kind of glad when that decade came to an end.

#42 2 years ago

All I need is Embryon and I have all the old Ballys I want to own.

No Eight ball deluxe? Seriously?

I had an LE and sold it. I just enjoy the other games more, not saying it's bad in any way.

Yup, to each their own! It's all good (well, except maybe Hercules....)

How about Xenon? It is missing from the list.

I guess I spoke too soon. 8 Ball Deluxe on its way to my house now.

#48 2 years ago

There are alot more early bally's than in your poll. Guess I don't get the objective of this thread.
If you want opinions on what people think is best, there are already many threads on this.
