Recently got a set of Bally brown box testers. The one that tests MPUs needs a set of ROMs. Anyone have the images or ROMs? Thanks

Sorry, I don't have any ROM files for the brown box testers.

It's been a long time since I saw one but I thought all the BB testers were made with discrete components and had no need for PROMS. Perhaps the MPU tester but I thought it was just a power supply and indicator light deal.

    The MPU tester has EPROMs.

The display, lamp, and solenoid testers are discrete logic only.

The schematics on PinWiki indicate there's eight PROM sockets. PROM part numbers:

    U1___ E-726-22
    U2___ E-726-07
    U3___ E-726-21
    U4___ E-726-11
    U5___ E-726-04
    U6___ E-726-03
    U7___ E-726-02
    U8___ E-726-10

@bigal56, you got Ballys Service department phone number?

No PROMs but some manuals available at:

Got to call up Arnie over in support and check on those proms.

long shot but you could ask Steph at hobby roms if he has access to them, chances are you will need to find someone who has a functioning unit and see if they can dump the roms for you, but keep in mind that reading the existing roms will probably take a very capable reader/programmer (meaning obsolete)

    good luck in your search

If still needed, I can read mine, and send copies or the files.
