So, I've got a machine that I think will go well with Mibs, which is a machine my wife likes. This thing actually looks kind of fun too.
It's got a few mechanical issues which should iron out pretty easily. The playfield looks great underneath all the dirt, but the backglass is pretty shot.
Anyways, for anyone that is interested, I've started this thread to show the progress on this machine.

Is that the one Adrian picked up in Austin?

Nice machine. Looks better in your pics than on cl

That should clean up nicely. Playfield looks to be in good shape.

Yeah, it's the same one. IPDB says it's an early production machine as it has the coin slots in the lockdown bar.

I've got a question....
Someone put a wood grain pattern adhesive around the bumpers which is ugly and starting to peel. Is a thing of canned air turned upside down the best way to try to remove those?

I like the Wall of mushroom bumpers , in fact it must win the most mushroom bumpers for any one game ever.

yes canned air removal of the nasty wood grain protectors.

you will have to get the glue off after you get the protectors off too

Nice looking game

I am jealous.
Very nice old Bally EM.
How is the CAB side art holding up?
Little bit of fade in some colors on the plastics and
on the BG (i.e. 1-4 Player Up Lettering)
Only flaw that distracts,
is the yellow cracking around the score displays,
I would not call it "shot".
Like to see the results of restore as it progresses,
and also would like a full in depth review of the rules
and game play when up and running.

cheers tom

Nice machine. Could you share the best way to remove the bands on the mushroom bumpers?

Just did mine on Bally On Beam. Pull the mushroom bumpers out as a unit. Unthread the large stamped nut below the playfield and lift the mushroom bumper out. Pull the ring off the bottom and stretch the new one up from the bottom. It is a tight fit so be careful not to strain and break the plastic actuator for the bumper. PBR has white replacements, but they are a little different from the originals. Some modification is required to make them work.
