I have a mid 80s black pyramid machine. The left thumper bumper has started to fire repeatedly on its own. Starts after the game warms up for about one minute. The transistors and diodes in that circuit on the solenoid board test good. Switch is properly adjusted. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Graham

There will be a ceramic disc shaped capacitor wired across the playfield switch. Cut one leg loose and see if the problem goes away.

If it does, that cap is bad. Usually pop bumpers don't necessarily need the cap to be responsive, but if you dont like the performance after cutting off that cap, add a new one back in. 0.047uF 50v+ is the replacement.

Wow!!!!!! You is da man! Should the cap affect the light as well. I will get another cap. Thank you so much for your assistance with this problem. My grandchildren thank you as well.

Great to hear that worked.

The light is completely different. Carefully remove the pop bumper cap (i think it has tabs that you squeeze in) and check to see if the bulb is burned out / seated well.
