you mean the win doesn't detect the first time you push the R button, or it only pays a credit or two and you have to push the R button again to keep getting paid more?

it should detect and pay the full amount the first time you push the R button.

in some cases depending on where on the search disc the wins detect and how much a payout is, it's possible the game will pay both an inline win and a section win with one R button press (assuming you have two wins at the same time without needing to move the screen). However, it's more likely you need to press the R button once for each win.

if the game isn't detecting the win, you have to further narrow that down to whether the search wipers are stopping and the sequence/winners unit are doing their thing, or the search wipers aren't stopping.

section scoring is divided into three phases:

1] spinning search wipers check balls in section holes. If there is a ball in any hole that powers at least one of search relays 1-4, then the search index coil powers and holds the wipers on the rivets.

2] the sequence unit steps up 9 times. At each step, a hole in a section is checked for a ball. If a ball is in the hole, the winner unit steps up once.

3] if the winner unit steps up at least three times, the circuit is completed to the payout counter for the color. If that payout counter hasn't stepped up to/past the win amount due to a previous win on that color, then the replay cams are released and the game does the same payout stuff as an inline win.

so, how far are you getting in that sequence?

if you aren't getting the search index coil powering and hearing the sequence unit step up, the most common problem is CU cam 15A and 15B need cleaning/adjusting.

when the search wipers are locked, you should be able to manually close any search relay 1-4 and the sequence unit will step up while you hold closed the relay until it reaches the top step.

the reason the sequence unit steps 9 times is the first step gives a free winner unit step if the game is checking an enabled supersection, the next six steps are because the biggest section covers six holes, and the last step just disconnects the circuit.

they needed 8 steps ... they musta had a surplus of 9 step ratchets so just used those.
