Can i also join, even when i just own a Atlantis playfield? (actually that does count for all my pinball machines).
Atlantis is now in the cleaning process..

Quoted from Jappadap:

Star_gazer You're welcome!

Thank you, gonna post pre-clean photos very soon!

#114 9 years ago

some pictures before the cleanup (and small problems, jikes!)

some challenges:

- dirt and spiders on ramps
- broken ramp to sub
- broken bands
- rusty parts
- missing "bump" between flippers

does anyone know if there are submarine replicas or alternatives available?

#118 9 years ago

guess this will be my submarine, since the original is broken, with some black paint it should turn out pretty cool i think!

I think it looks like ass.

yeah, and it's really cheap (and for me broken) plastic, the new one is made from playmobil, and
can be bought everywhere like here: ebay.com link: PLAYMOBIL Geobra 4473 Blue Planet Underwater Research Submarine Missing Parts

hope it fits, did not ordered it yet.

PS is there anyway to make the Mylar more shine?..it still fits nice, but doesn't shine as much as the non Mylar parts.

Getting rid of the mylar .

With the freeze-stuff right? And then? Wax the field, should that be enough for protection?

Quoted from wayout440:

I prefer the heat gun method

Can i also use a hairdryer?

Just placed 26 leds en 6 led-flashers /blockquote>

Awesome! make a highres photo! then we can see it a bit better great work!

Quoted from wayout440:

On my Taxi, I removed the entire playfield mylar in almost one clean sheet (it ripped a couple of times) and lost no art.

But how did Atlantis work out, did you have anyproblems with paint coming up? (btw thanks for the usefull info so far!)

#151 9 years ago

Yay! my new and improved submarine had arrived today!

#155 9 years ago
Quoted from CaptainNeo:

lets see it in action. I have not found a sub I liked at all to put in there. I may just sculpt one from scratch.

I have to fit and mod the sub first, gonna post a making of series...

And a total noob question i've got this atlantis playfield (only), is there anyway to turn the playfield on: to make the basic stuff like bumpers etc working? (without scoring/sound)...thinking of powering the lights and the coils for flippers separately like the image, can this just work? and what should i need for A and B? help greatly appreciated!
