Yeah there is a gap right there. So do you have a hole right next to your bumper like I do or am I missing one?

Not unless your bracket post is going thru the wrong hole.
Here's what mine looks like. (the 2 forward holes are the sub mounts to the playfield)

Nice so I put the post more toward the ramp. Here are some pics of what’s going on. I’m wondering if your ball gate assembly is bent like mine. I see yours has a screw and mine is riveted.

Also what shape is your little whisker switch in? Mine looks like it’s been bent to hell. It looks like a man made hole as well. Thank you so much for your help. I’m completely lost with the multiball

My guess is the last ball with no ball behind it has a chance of getting stuck on this wide gap. I'd address this first. Second of all, that is not a good rollover switch wire and also has a good chance of snagging the ball. It should look similar to a trough switch with a rounded point to allow the ball to set it down and come off clean when launched.

Your gate/bracket is correct. My spring-steel was busted, so I had rigged with a screw, until I found a new gate. (now out of stock everywhere)

However, your coil sleeve looks wrong. Should be more like this one: https://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2900

My switch wire was in good shape. (picture pre-rebuild)

Re: building the jackpot, I have been paying particularly close attention while playing lately. I have noticed that *sometimes* a saucer shot will increase the jackpot. I tried counting how many times you have to hit it to increment the jackpot. I got to 11 the last time I played and nothing. I refuse to increment by hand at this point since I am trying to beat a GC that a buddy put up and I do not want to give him any reason to contest it WHEN I do so. Seems like the number of saucer hits carries over game to game since I got it off the ball 1 plunge on a new game yesterday...

Anyone is in possesion of that goregous prototype plastics abouve the pop bumpers? I want to reproduce it!!!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
And there is an additional lane a bit down the right Pop Bumper. The game doesn't have this but my playfield protector has a hole for it: WTF?!
So they had that protoype when they made the playfield protector?!

That plastic looks interesting but I am not seeing the extra lane you mention. Any chance you could take a pic of the area where the protector is cut out to give a better idea of where you are referring to on the playfield?

Just acquired a real nice Atlantis today..I've been looking for along time..no fade on cabinet..quite a bonus

I just picked up a nice example of this game. No cab fade and playfield has a lot of Mylar. I’ll post pics later.
Does anyone know where to get insert decals other than eBay?

#662 5 years ago

Also does anyone make a replacement ramp for the one that raises? I wanted to replace mine since it has spider cracks.

#663 5 years ago

So I’m letting my bally Atlantis restoration go. Selling it to a good friend. Problem is the sound is Intermitend . Does anybody know why or what would make that happen. ?

Lots of possibilities, most of the time its flaky cables. Especially those involved with the small sound interface board. I had the same kind of problem with mine until I replaced them.

To be more specific, I believe it's on the actual sound board. If I leave the game on for 20 minutes the sound begins to work. This leads me to think bad caps. Thoughts?

Possibly, but that symptom is not limited to capacitors. Resistors change with heat. ICs are made of hundreds or more components internally and can be affected by temperature. Connectors can expand with temperature. ILots of possibilitoes with an intermittent like this. I can't determine that replacing the caps will definitely cure the problem. I'd start with both, first replacing cables, then move to replace electrolytic caps on the sound board, and see where I end up afterwards.

I have a question... I am converting my game to leds and under a few of the plastics are bulbs with red condoms on them. When are these lit up? They are not on in attract mode and I’ve only played a few games but I haven’t noticed them.

#669 5 years ago

Wow this might be the worst game I’ve ever swapped to leds, such tight spaces and the bulbs won’t come out and are worse going in.

#670 5 years ago

Well that was a pain in the ass but looks so much better

Yours must be out then, there's 2 GI and I think also 2 red GI in that far back left corner.

Yes there are 4-5 bulbs in the back for general lighting and they are a pain to get to so most people probably don’t replace them until it’s a must do.

Does anyone know if the light board for the fan of lights above the saucer is available or does anyone have a spare? One of my lights(far left) doesn’t work and it’s not the wedge socket, I’ve swapped a few to check it.

You probably don't need a new board...there's not much of anything but sockets and connector. Pull the board and check for cracked through hole pins or traces. Probably just needs soldering.

Hey all
I'm working with Pinside member Mikonos to produce the apron art for me and can print apron decals for us. Also the shooter cover. I started this for Transporter but realizes Atlantis has the same apron art. I think these are the only two games with this art. This is the start from his website.

https://zonaarcade.forumcommunity.net/?t=61109141#entry437276565

I'm not sure the decal price yet as we've just got started.

This is a thread of the stuff he is doing.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/restored-and-customized-pinball-artworks-showroom-thread-by-mikonos/page/7#post-4820342

We can collect names if people are interested and it should help the price.

Joined the club! This is my first pinball machine. Everything works, all I had to do was replace some bulbs (10 down, 3 to go). My only issue is the a and b lanes. At first they lit up and flashed when no game was being played, but then would stay on during the game and going threw them did nothing. I reset everything, it was on "looser" mode when I turned it on first (it was locking 1 and 2 automatically at the start). They then started working sometimes. Now they work, for a while. After getting a few they both stay on and do nothing. Maybe I'm not understanding the rules? Need to reset something else? Not sure.
Anyway, I love playing it. Only damage seems to be the wear around the bumpers and the lanes. Paid $2000. How'd I do?

I think I need to gap my switches. Finally found a pdf manual and figured it out.

#682 4 years ago

Hey folks, I'm looking at bringing one of these up to where I'm living currently and keeping it at a place where we play monthly tournaments. I was reading through the manual and it looks pretty sparse in terms of game settings. Is there a way to freeze the progressive jackpot/remove extra balls/ensure the pop up saver never comes up? We tend to maximize the difficulty at this place and while I love Atlantis it can be a pretty long ball game IMO.

Hello Atlantis Owners

I thought I would reach out to the Atlantis owners club first. I rescued a machine that was sitting in a barn/shed for over 20 years in Western WI last Fall.
The game is now in my garage in Minneapolis MN. I told the owner that it's kinda rare and the parts are not available anymore.
The owner didn't realize it needed to be stored in a climate controlled building. Needless to say I told her that there was still some value as a parts machine and she decided to let it go.

When I power on the game a lady says "Come ON Crew". Great theirs sound. Upon further investigation I noticed the seven segment led's weren't lit.
I ordered a 5 pack of fuses from Marco. Replaced the main power supply fuse and wah lah the dual segment displays now work. The main control board appears to have the original battery and the board looks fine from the front (no acid damage). The game does cycle through a nice light show. The submarine looks intact and the drop target assembly looks great. There is some slight rust on the ramps. The playfield, legs and cabinet are toast from moisture. The original service manual was also inside the game in a manila envelope. The game doesn't flip.

I would like to sell the game in its entirety to an Atlantis owner.
If anybody is interested in the game please PM me.
Pictures available upon request.

PS If CGC remade this game I would buy it in a heartbeat. Who doesn't like girls riding dolphins?

Can anyone help me out with how to replace the ramp flap? I can’t tell if this is partially correct or what but someone used clear tape to tape to the plastic piece. Could anyone share a picture or help me understand where to buy one? Do I have to make one? Thanks

Hi folks!

At long last...Atlantis, my first pin!

Thank You to all at Pinside for providing all the varied and helpful information I've been researching here over the past year and a half to make this happen.

From an early start as kid in the 1970's playing a well used Klondike in a busy KMart lobby to not being able to play too many 50 cent games of Black Hole at a University pub in the 1980's, I now have this great looking and playing machine in my living room/games room! Sure having fun with this pin, both playing and fixing it! These things are a tinkerer's dream!

Awesome thanks for this totally missed it exactly what I needed! Did you have to make a new flap?

#688 4 years ago

Sadly, I don't recall if I made one for Atlantis or not, but Marco sells the spring steel that is used for ramps. I have made ramps for other machines, using tin snips for cutting and a bench grinder for beveling.
You might reach out to Freeplay40 he does many ramps and can perhaps provide you more insight.

#689 4 years ago
Quoted from djsolzs:

Did you have to make a new flap?

Yes, my friend made a replacement ramp and flap (it was completely missing from the game). He used some blue spring steel he'd previously purchased from Marcos or PBR I think to make the flaps. @Atari_daze's reference pictures were a great help.

#690 4 years ago

Do you know how he did the riveting? or did you just use some type of screw or something?

From memory he used rivets like you find on ramps (and rivet punch to press them) - probably purchased from PBR.
Scroll down to the "Repair Material For Your Toolbox"
http://www.pbresource.com/tools.html

Marcos has rivets too - punch tool is out of stock but you can probably find something at a hardware store??

For the ramp lock solenoid? No, a 34-4000 is the wrong coil.
Per the manual, its a SM-28-900, and yes, with a diode. (and that is what is in mine)

I will start to restore all "Atlantis Submarine Pinball Decals". My intention is to improve them and reproducing:

- I will centre all precut.
- I will add a little of symmetry in some pieces without lost original drawing.
- I will add precut symmetry in some pieces.
- I will round some corners with precut line in restorinzing process.
- In posterior reproductions (ahead), I will think about to print them in metallic vinyl for a deluxe results.
