Does anyone need a set of cab decals for Atlantis? I have an uninstalled set I got my hands on before a certian UK manufacturer stopped offering B/W items.

REALLY, now you tell me!
PM SENT.

They rare?

Sorry for not checking out the voltage on my game yet, had a terrible cold and didn't work on it for a week or so...

I'm not sure of the rarity of the decals, just had not found any in a cursory interweb search so I have started to create my own repops. As im not a pro with Photoshop or Illustrator, for me it is VERY painstaking!

Had the same problem. - But it turned out to be incredibly ease once I started asking.

So if you still need a set I can tell you where I got mine from (but it's from europe, not sure how high shipping would be).
I pail 140€ including shipping (EU, not in the same country), that's about 172$. (Exchange rate sucks for US-customers in the moment; We're happy because Stern Games got around 500 bucks cheaper the last momths. )

Joined the club this weekend. Looking forward to playing the hell out of this after a shop job. Cabinet has some peeling, but I figure I’ll worry about that down the road.

Also, wondering if someone can help point in the right direction. I played a few quick test games and noticed some weird behavior with the alphanumeric display. 50-75% of the time it was fine. However, there were times where only the 2nd and 4th player display would show. When this occurred, it was a garbled or almost combined output. Any tips on where to start with this?

Would anyone be willing to measure the length of the plastic on the lift ramp? I'm hoping to get a replacement made up for mine but I believe mine has been shortened. Thanks

Thanks Atari_Daze for the plastic dimensions of the lift ramp!
Can anyone also include dimensions of the two blue metal pieces on each end of the plastic and the centre stainless steel guide that the crank pin slides in on that lift ramp?
We have an Atlantis that's missing the lift ramp so need to reconstruct it.

Any help would be appreciated

I should be able to get you those in the morning lest someone else advise before that.

You didn't mention the bracket, I measured it while I was at it.
Let me know if I missed any key dimension you need.

Anyone have "spare" wireforms they can part with temporarily?

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wireforms-wanted

#618 5 years ago

Half a year later, the GI is working (there was just an additional Fuse beneath the playfield)... *facepalm*

...replaced the really bad inserts (insert decal stickers will be applied), repainted playfield art where it was down to the wood, adjusted all switches, reflowed solder & cleaned all mechs (so slingshots finally work) and of course replaced the GI lightbulbs with LED (hopefully no rainbow puke ).

(Speech is still way louder than the music but I will replace the soundboard for testing later.)

So, while the cab is still butt-ugly, the playfield itself can finally be re-assembled and I can play that game for the first time in 25 years.

I want to steal that concept, what lights did you use?

Pinball.Center here in germany has turquoise and teal LED. (I'm sure there's shops near you as well wich have them.)
And while the teal is not really teal, the greenish-blue is ideal for this occasion...

http://www.pinball.center/en/shop/noflix-pinball-leds/wedge-base-t10/gi/353/t10-noflix-plus-teal-gi?c=2927

Backbox LED are just cold & warmwhite LED mixed, with coldwhite where the water is and warmwhite for the logo and girls; the camera makes it look kinda horrible (yellow/ blue). XD

Everything (well ok, have to check where the leftovers belong) back in place and working on the last problem...

aufgebaut (resized).jpgaufgebaut (resized).jpg

...wich is the sound (Voices way too loud).
Easy fix after 6 months: Replacing the Soundboard with my F14 while I'm still on my playfield swap.

So, since that's done time to play a bit...

blank (resized).jpgblank (resized).jpg

...and start beginning work on the cabinet.

Can someone shed some light on these circled lamps? The playfield lamp location drawing I have does not shows these (am I just blind), I know some of them are clearly stated to be "BBOX" but there is no drawing for the BB lamps?
I'm trying to trouble shoot my last little issues while I await my wireforms to be returned and these items have me stumped.
Thanks for your input!!

Doesn't my Tech Chart on my website help?

Or try the Pinwiki site.
http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Atlantis
And sort on SRC.

What is it you want to know?
What is your problem?

#626 5 years ago
Quoted from Inkochnito:

What is it you want to know?

Thanks Peter, I'm looking for a back box lamp illustration just like the one for the PF so I can physically find the lamps circled.
That is eg. lamp # 36 is "here" ...
For when I am in single lamp test, the one circled don't make any lamps illuminate on my machine. Are they perhaps superfluous on the matrix and don't actually exist in the game?

#627 5 years ago

I think you will have to map them out yourself.
I haven't seen anything like a drawing for the back box in any game manual for the Bally 6803 games.
Just follow the wire color from my Tech Chart and you will know which light it is/should be.

I’m pretty sure my playfield has an empty hole for this as well. Have been wondering what it was for. I’ll snap a pic later, if I think of it.

...and cut down the pillars of the sunken akropolis so it would fit in height and behind the ball gate.
Inserted 2 teal/blue LED and 2 slow color changers for some underwater effect lighting.

I like it!

Still waiting for a sunken treasure chest & diver figurine.
The chest should go where the drop target bank is (cause there is where you get the treasure) and maybe I put a flasher in it connected to the treasure flashe under the playfield.

Got my fish tank decoration and modded it in, with lights...

Cut it so it would fit. Has a red and teal LED connected to the "Treasure" insert, and the red LED fades in slower, so this has a nice effect. Inside the treasure chest is some jewelery "glitter" and and the inside of the top is colored chrome, so it reflects more light.

But honestly:

I'm usually not the "mod" type and if I get a used game I usually get rid of all/ most of the the mods, because they add nothing to the game and distract you view as well.

Only Mod I think should be totally essential is the Star Trek (Stern) Vengeance Mod. - Because (in my opinion) it really adds to the game.

But with Atlantis there is something different. First off it's kind of "barebone". The product flyer shows a much more detailed submarine and a goregous big plastic above the pops. There is no big toy yet (wrong era) but instead a lot of inconsitency. So what is it with the submarine, the divers and the... seamaidens riding dolphins? Why the heck can I dive for "treasure" hitting the drop targets but the picture on them not has a treasure but a sea horse? (And in the prototype it was just target markings.)

So the submarine get's 3 divers inside to look for hidden sea treasure in atlantis (wich is only portraitet by some drawn pillars -not an ancient city- on the playfield and a Seashell containing some jewelery). I HONESTLY think the pillars I put in the upper right corner set the mood (while not distracting) as well as the treasure chest above the targets makes ist clear that you "shoot them for treasure".

And the rest of the decoration, the resin plants, HIDE the "beautiful" switches, the player usually sees.

So if you don't like it that is of course ok, but I really and honestly think that this mods as well adds to the game. Maybe not as much as anticipated but it does, at least it does for me, so it's basically 100% confirmed awesome because it sits in my house.

Having trouble with the third ball when I get multiball. I recently purchased an Atlantis machine and am going through the process of making everything work again. I’m having trouble with the multiball. It will shoot out the first two balls and the third ball keeps getting stuck. So when you play it out it says ball missing and you have to remove the glass to push the stuck ball out. I have attached a picture that shows a top view of where the balls go in and it looks like I’m missing a post. If someone could take a pic of their and show it to me that would be helpful. Or any other ideas on why it’s sticking.

I had the same problem with balls getting stuck in that divot where the ramp transitions to the wood part. I made a little down ramp section that sticky tapes to the wood section. so when the ball gets to that transition. it rolls down the little ramp into the groove.
