What are your voltages?

When I turned it on the game buzzes so I shut in down fast. I don’t want to damage anything on it. The game did work with the old board but some of the wires were hacked pretty bad so I thought I’d clean it up and put a new power supply in it..

Where's your manual schematics....
I would start buy checking every connection from
the transformer lugs to each PCB input.

FYI-Looks like the 3amp fuse blew at F6..

Quoted from RocketFromTombs:

And today I got a surprise in the mail:
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
And here is one head trimmed from the little connector piece between them:
[quoted image]
I made a quick and dirty jig to support the kicker arm while I pounded out the roll pin and removed the old broken head. Then I put the new head on and pounded the pin back in. (I highly recommend using some sort of similar jig to support the kicker when you're pounding, and use the proper size center punch if you can!)

[quoted image]
[quoted image]
And here it is all assembled:

[quoted image]
[quoted image]
I sent some pictures and feedback to Swinks, and they are now available here:
https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace?type=product&q=swinksc-1062
Unfortunately, I am just starting a playfield swap, and won't be able to play test these for a while...
That said, the new kicker head seems to fit the same as the original, and I am very, very happy with how this turned out!

Am I missing something. These are sold by PBR and Marco for half the price?

Maybe E11 and E1 are wrong..

I have a red/white wire on E11 (pic below)
I have a white wire on E1

You cut all the wires? I hate taking any length off that isn't needed. Last time I replaced one of those board I took lots of reference photos then unsoldered and moved over wires one at a time. Did a few at the end all at once but had the photos as backup just in case.

I just trim a little bit off for reference, I saw a repair tech do this a few years ago. Someone cut them shorter and used electrical tape to extend them with different color wires which make it even harder to figure out. I’ve done a few of these with no problems in the past but I just can’t figure out what I switched up on this one..

If someone could verify the color of E11 wire that would help me..

#2012 3 years ago

Thanks, I see where I screwed up. The two wires I thought. Now I’ve got other problems coils aren’t working now. Fuses are good too. Damn might of messed something else up.

In the one picture there appears to be an extra blob of solder near one of the blue wires. If it is get rid of it. Otherwise it will probably fall across something later and cause a short.

Maybe you saw someone do it but I don't think it is a good practice. I can sort of understand before digital pictures but now there is no reason for that. If is done every time that explains what you are working on one with extension wires added.

The Bally kicker heads have been “out if stock” for some time now. The last time I called in an order to PBR he said they were unavailable.

In stock at Marcos. $2/ea in quantity of 10 or more. $3/ea if you need just a few.

Yes, he is. I am the person who approached him and asked him to do so. He sent me a pair to test out before he made them available to the public, and I got them a few days ago. #2031 3 years ago

just uploaded a new product to Shapeways - Roll Over Button now EXTENDED 1mm more to accommodate the Outer Edge Hardtop playfield overlays. They still will seat the same into the playfield and connect the same under the playfield but have 1mm extension in the head to accomodate the Hardtop thickness. Available as singles or in sets of 5 in multiple colours.

I just got a Future Spa and while going though it I've found that the only problem it has is the "P" light (directly under the center target) will not operate. I know the bulb is good and so is the wiring. I've looked in the manual and my first guess would be to replace Q29 on the light board. Does anyone know what part number this would be and is this a step in the right direction to get the light working? My first thought is "2N5064 SCR". Thoughts?

Thanks

Part numbers are often found on other pages of the manual, these look like to be MCR-106-1, available from Marco (among others)

https://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=mcr-106-1

Get with Ed at GPE, he likely has these and or substitutes as well.

Original is a 2N5060, but a 2N5064 is perfectly fine as a replacement (it can operate at higher voltages).
Atari_Daze the MCR106 SCRs are the ones marked on the circuit diagram with two stars ** and are the physically larger ones. It's strange the notes you posted don't mention it because I'm sure I've seen it in other lamp driver board schematics.

Old file on IPDB I suppose.

Ah, I see what's happened, the notes you posted are from the auxiliary lamp driver board which only has MCR106 SRCs. The main lamp driver board schematic on IPDB has the notes section partly chopped off.
It should look like this, so all good

Thanks, guys! I found them on PinballLife and placed an order. Fingers crossed, I'll have a 100% functional Future Spa soon.

#2038 3 years ago

I am having the same issue on my Dolly Parton.

O Target and Y Center Lamp are both not working, but fine. I am guessing it is component related n the Lamp Board.

I have not ordered up the part as this is new to me (Board Work) and frankly, scares the hell outta me.

Check out my website for Tech Charts on Future Spa and Dolly Parton.
You can find them both in the Bally section and in the Tech Charts section.

Thanks Inko, that's super handy to have!

So it looks like I need replcements for 2N5060 in each of those positions. Anything else I should change along with them?

Reflow the pins on the lamp driver board.
It solves 90% of the problems.
Sometimes acid damage is present on the top or bottom traces.
