    Hi Guys,

Please , could you give me a idea to replace this poor incandescent lamp in the middle of a Bally 6803 Black Water.

    Thanks .
    Lionel.

    Is that original?
I would use a 2 or more white Cold Cathode lamps used to mod computer cases. I believe they are 12v. Would have to splice them into the general illumination wiring harness or alligator clip then to the 12v and Gnd test points but shouldn't be difficult.
Might reduce the temperature inside the backbox too.

Yes , this is the technology construction chosen by a professional company.!!??!!
So simple is incredible. Cheap OK for sure. There's no diffusion of light . I read that this kind of lamp can destroy the BG, and i stronghly believe it !

    I looked for a circle-lamp, but i didn't found it.

OK Why not a 12 volts illumination, but i wouldn't modify the backbox.
No retailer on the net offer a solution. Or not found.

How about a florescent bulb across the inside of the box horizontal. my Starship Troopers has a fluorescent that run across the inside of the box. I'm sure it would burn much cooler. Additionally it is easly removable to service and access the boards.

OMG You could look into lighting used on computer cases and run it off the DC from the power supply:

Here are some other easy options to consider: (I kinda like the LED programmable with remote being a guy - buttons .. gotta have remote and buttons)

At least replace it ASAP with a screw-in compact florescent !!!

The cold cathode / LED lamps for computers don't really need modifications. They usually velcro tape to the sides of the case. The wiring would be easy, just use a clamp on wire tap into the 12v general illum wire.

First one is better IMHO since you can disconnect the wire from the clamp.

    Thanks for your opinions.
I will mesure the distance between the backboard and backglass to find the good size.
A fluorescent will be a decent solution firstly. This machine i s a gift to a friend, So i don't want to make deep modifications.

Do you remember that BW100 is the last machine produced by Bally before they definatelly stopped ?

I understand now why Bally dieded ! The didn't see the light - Argh...
