I'm working on a Nitro Ground Shaker and I'm having some trouble with the sound. Sometimes, I'll turn the machine on and get no sound, other times I turn it on and get sound. Sometimes, if I have no sound and I turn it off and back on, the sound will work. Other times, this doesn't work. I haven't been able to notice a consistent pattern or anything.

Does anyone have any thoughts about what might cause this type of issue?

So I reseated the chips and reflowed the sockets and header. The sound worked maybe 4 out of the 5 times I turned it on.

Next up Im going to check the cpu board connector, but I may have already reflowed them when I had that board out a couple weeks ago. Cant hurt to check again though.

Quoted from pinballplusMN:

Could be bad connectors between cpu and sound board as well.

I removed the mpu and reflowed all the connectors, there doesn't seem to be any change. If I turn it off and then back on right away, it seems to be pretty consistent with getting it to work.

Quoted from jj44114:

There is a reset circuit on the board that can cause the unreliable start up. Check the schematic, can’t remember exactly but it is a 16 pin IC, a diode and a million ohm resistor. One of these components might be flaky.

Thanks, I'll try and look into this.
