I have my WOZ on 10 seconds. While it does give some insurance on the flipper skill shot and/or an initial first shot that goes bad (pilot error), it also gives fair protection against house balls (full plunge -> TOTO out, soft plunge -> slings -> outlane). It feels like the perfect balance for the time being.

On this, some recent Stern games really reward you for going for the super tough shots during the ball save (ST ball lock and TWD drops come to mind). In my opinion, skillful use of ball saver is another notch in the "competitive player's belt".
