I just bought a 1989 Gottlieb Bone Busters Inc.

When I try to start a game, the ball does not eject into the shooting lane.

I’ve run the diagnostic tests and it works fine during that particular test.

It looks like the similar issue when 1 out of the 4 balls is missing in the play field and the game does not starts. I can assure you all 4 balls are in there waiting to be ejected in the shooting lane. This is my first pinball machine and I was hoping to play more than 4 days before it broke. Any help would truly be appreciated.

Let's start at ground level, is your pin level?

When you say it works in test mode, are the same number of balls in the trough as when you are playing a game?

Is it trying to get out, but just can't, or is it not even firing?

Thank you for the info. I actually found the issue. A connector on the main board was loose. Problem solved!

Having a similar problem with the same game (Bone Busters) just replaced the cpu due to battery leakage, game turns on, goes into attract mode, hit the start button (credits showing) and no ball load.
The game did start once (music went into play mode and the display was ready) but no ball load or flippers. I placed a ball into the shooter lane and the display said shoot the ball into play so I did but nothing working. In test mode everything is working, any help would be greatly appreciated
