Hi all,

I bought a Johnny Mnemonic last Thursday, and everything was in working order without any problem with the glove or anything else.

This morning, I played 1 game and suddenly the ball was immediately released by the hand magnet. After some research on the forum, I though it was the ball in hand switch that was constantly "closed". So I re-adjusted it, and now it seems to work ok.

However, each time the hand magnet is activated to grab the ball, it blows the fuse F103. I found the SB87 that recommend to re-wire to use the F104, but I dont understand why it blows the fuse EACH time (not intermittently like said on the SB87) and why during the last 3 days everything was fine.

What can go wrong ? I did some tests and I killed my 5-pack of 3A MDL fuses.

Thanks for your help

I've made a mistake in the problem description : when the magnet is activated, the fuse F104 (and not the F103 like I though) is blowing up ...

So I did the SB87 modification, and rewired properly the hand magnet to the F104 then upgrade to 4A instead of 3A, and voila! The fuse does not blow anymore and it works fine.

However, sometimes, the hand enters a "release ball" sequence and it's not playable anymore, I have to reboot the pinball. Is it a known issue ? I checked all solders and they look fine and strong.

Yes I did, and I sold the game since.
The problem was a faulty 7-optos switch board. I replaced it and problem solved !
