Bally, 1992Been a lagging issue that I have tried a few times to address. Not getting stuck in the swamp, but getting stuck in the drop when Thing takes the ball. A little machine shake or side tap usually loosens ball into swamp area.
Could the drop be dented? Any good way to fix this?

Not an uncommon issue with TAF.
Flip the playfield up and take off the box, a few screws and the one end has a lip that goes under a bracket.
Could be dirt or debris in there or even an old bulb or something.
Make sure it's clean and smooth inside.
I have thought that the thing box could use something like the swamp accelerator to direct the ball better back to the kicker.

Same problem here. I put my phone in de Thingbox and took this shot. Ball stuck where is was supposed to enter the next compartment. It appeared that one of the bolts fastening the box to the PF was a bit loose so that the compartments where not perfectly aligned. Just fastening the bolt completely fixed the problem.
