Speedy shots often result in the ball falling off the Acrobat ramp on my CV. Short of changing the coil to a weaker one, is there anything that I can do to the ramp or guide to slow the ball down, without making the shot too hard?

I have the same problem. A direct full strength hit will almost certainly not make the turn. The ball travels until there is no more ball guide, then says "to hell with this wire ramp!"
