I'm not ready to post the name yet, but I was totally burned.
Respected member of Pinside, and was totally blindsided by this!
Did a done deal, no red flags on a Left Twix, and damn! They shipped
    me a Right Twix!

    #2 3 years ago

    Sorry for your loss.

    #3 3 years ago

Try it, you might like it.

    #4 3 years ago

So what did you get and what was expected!

Hard Times bring out the worst in people.

    Nobody is respected these days.

    Why not?

Does robin need to mediate all this junk now?

One per week should be the limit for call out threads with zero details.

    #7 3 years ago

Did he mention anything about the “cost of doing business”?

What is the name of the Pinside achievement for the creator?

    #9 3 years ago

Offer something up worthwhile or I say close down the thread.

Zero sympathy for threads with no details.

So did you reach out to the seller about the wrong one being sent?

Rather short original post, some details would be nice...

Edit: LOL, I got the joke...you got me.

    #12 3 years ago

    Left Twix right Twix?? Wtf???

    #13 3 years ago

Well it wasn’t me dodged a bullet on this one. Who says being non respected doesn’t pay off.

    #14 3 years ago

Assuming this is just a bad joke?

    #15 3 years ago

Maybe title should be changed to “Bad OP”

    #16 3 years ago

    Try rotating it 180 degrees.

    Quoted from ToucanF16:

He thinks Pinside is his leverage.
It is pathetic, passive aggressive, and helps identify people to avoid for sales.

Gotta be honest, posting these and not giving any real details while also alluding to any number of people is dumb.
OP is using the community as the threat to the seller, but at the same time is completely unwilling to protect the same community by naming names. His title actually does more harm than good as now we are error the confidence of dealing with others when this is a one off between OP and the mystery seller.

After seeing the one earlier this week between bally pin and mystery buyer with Robin mediation... I am over these when they don’t name names. The net is a negative.

Would like to see a Pinside rule that if putting these threads up, then you are required to name all parties, game in question, and full details. Give the seller a chance to reply and then the community can decide which person (or both) to not deal with.

These threads should be a last resort, rather than a PA communication and negotiation technique for resolution.

“Watch out! Something bad happened to me. But I will give you no actionable info to help you avoid my situation.”

    Ok - thank you.

    #19 3 years ago

    I prefer Snickers

    #20 3 years ago

I wonder if there's a business opportunity here for Pinside... pay in $25 or something and have Robin mediate your dispute. If Robin feels someone is acting in bad faith he can take appropriate action (ban or publicly shame the bad actor). That would help filter through all the crap where one party comes on here and only tells part of the story.

    #21 3 years ago

    Thoughts and prayers.

    #22 3 years ago

    Who is the bad seller?
    Why?
    What happened?

All those answers and less, here, on another episode of Pinside empty rant.

    #23 3 years ago

You lost me on the right Twix, left Twix and the point of posting this thread if you are not going to reveal the name or the situation. Who said this person is respected?? There are many popular people on Pinside that are jerks. Be a man, get some pinballs and post the name and if you are going to trash someone at least give us a story that makes sense.

    #24 3 years ago

I’d just eat the damn right Twix. They taste pretty similar to the left Twix. I mean, not as good, but pretty good.

    #25 3 years ago

homebrood started thread, offered absolutely nothing of substance and is now AWOL...

Horrible precedent. Robin can nip this in the bud with some internal mechanisms to the selling template.

Ha! All the negative responses made me think maybe i mis-read it or the op edited the post

    #30 3 years ago

    I like Twix, both sides.
If i get 2 rights, its not wrong.
If i get 2 lefts, 2 more and im back home.

    #31 3 years ago

Some people need to call down and read a little slower

    #32 3 years ago

These threads never go well. Without details we don’t know the story. I get people come here to vent. We are a tight knit niche group so odds are someone here knows the seller. If you are going to out somebody be a true keyboard warrior and just do it.

    And I prefer Reese’s.
    Not sorry!

There was a point? Which direction was the point pointing?

    #34 3 years ago

This is just a really bad joke, right?

    #35 3 years ago

homebrood is a good guy and doesn't stir things up without good cause. Hopefully he is working out the deal gone bad with the seller behind the scenes and will report back.

    Oh, Very clever !

For those that couldn’t make it past sentence two of OP’s post before responding, here it is again, emphasis added. It wasn’t a great joke, but he must be loving the responses he’s getting.

This went over over more than half of Pinside’s heads.

This thread sucks, people come to bad seller threads to learn or to help.

Joke threads are generally really annoying. I put this in the category of those troll Rick roll "leaked pics" threads. Might as well put up a fake for sale ad for a $100 Fathom and be like "made you look"

While the joke isn't necessarily funny, the outrage responses are pretty funny. They remind me of the liberal/media, making something out of nothing.

And the conservative media doesn't blow anything out of proportion? Best laugh I have had all week
