I've read about this or that pin has 'bad layout' that is saved by great code, what the consensus is this a thing and do you have examples?

What is considered a 'bad layout'? Why?

I was going to say TWD as an example because it was somewhat of a dud early on but now is considered to be a solid pin number 25 on the top100 list. I am not sure if I would call TWD a bad layout but it's certainly something off about it's flow.

I believe other examples might be GB or R&M (I have not played the latter but the layout does seems to be a bit hit or miss from some descriptions).

I would have to say Dirty Harry qualifies for this category. The shot geometry is wonky, but love the deep code. I miss mine....

So we're already calling R&M a great game?

Maybe just lopsided that the code looks better than the layout.
