My wife and I purchased a Bad Cats
I really enjoy this pin
We will need a set of plastics and both ramps. I will post photos of our repair work.
Quoted from indypinhead:I sell a full set of plastic protectors if you're interested.
Thanks I will send you a PM. I contacted CPR and asked about plastics and do they have a playfield I could purchase.
The answer they gave me here is a link to the plastics they have in stock and never answered my question about an replacement playfield.....
Quoted from Kerry_Richard:I bought 2 CPR Bad Cats playfields. I actually have 2 BC's. Not sure I'll be able to do a playfield swap on both of them, as one is really nice.
Any idea of what a CPR playfield is worth today?
Let me know.
Thanks!
Kerry
I have no idea what a new playfield would cost. Its disappointing that CPR has said in my email they have no plans of making anymore Bad Cats playfields. I thought in a post on pinside CPR could produce a single playfield with there new technology they have.
I was away on vacation the last 10 days. I moved bad cats to the basement. I'm not sure when I will do any repairs on it. I will continue to see what parts are needed to make the repairs. First purchase will be new ramps amd Comet LED's.
Has anyone added LED's to the Seafood wheel? What did you use for bulbs?
Thank you everyone for the helpful information I hope to restore this pin in the near future. I have a new playfield I can purchase in the next 6 months
When I look at my backbox the sides look like they are painted yellow. The cabinet does not have a decal on it. I wonder what was going on during production??
Quoted from freddy:Ask the Pinball pimp if he doesn’t have it he may be able to make it
Thanks.....I will let the group know if its available.
My wife and I had been looking for one for two years. We did find two that was in terrible condition. One of them was an hour from us and the owner wanted 3k. We tried asking them to reduce the price for a week and they said no. This one came from the west coast from an arcade. The ramps are terrible condition. This weekend we did a topside teardown. Installed LEDs and titan rubbers for now. When we get the spare cash we will buy new ramps.
I received an email from pinball pimp. They said they would not be making a stencil for Bad Cats because it's too much detail to hold with the stencil....
I wished you were closer and I would be happy to swap heads. I wished someone from William's could tell the group was this part of the production. I just find it odd the head faded and the cabinet did not. Both the head and cabinet are stenciled......
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:Come on guys. Meet half way. Make this Cinderella story come true. It's pinside fate.
That would be a youtube moment to record......
My wife got a chuckle out of this post...
Quoted from freddy:Uv sunlight hit the head
UV is brutal.
Funny both sides of the head are faded.....and the cabinet is ok....
I dont see how there is a decal installed on it.....
Hello Alan
I cannot attend York this year. I can try and attend Allentown next year and we could swap heads....
Thanks Phillip
Quoted from jjoravec:Just picked up my Bad Cats, are there any good Toppers for it.
Only Topper is a plastic set you can purchase from Classic Playfield Reproductions. Congratulations on your BC
My wife is the crazy cat lady. The first time she played this pin at an arcade in 2015 she wanted one. Every time a BC came up for sale the pin sold quickly or is was in really bad shape and the seller wanted too much for it. Finally last year one came up for sale that needed ramps but overall was in good shape. We purchased and I contacted CPR for a playfield it has been 1 year and the wait is over we purchased playfield and got a discount on buying the plastics with the playfield. My wife is excited about getting this BC looking like new. I will post up some photos during the process of the playfield swap.
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:Me me me! Seriously though, Playfield on the way and I already had a replacement plastics set. Would love to protect them!
Chris
Sell it to Chris.....Enjoy
Quoted from Alan_L:Just received a new plastic set for my BC from CPR. There are two plastics where the originals have bends in them but their replacements are flat. The large plastic on the right hand side that has the gray cat punching the blue bulldog has a 90 degree flip on the bottom edge that looks like it's there to keep air balls from getting stuck behind the doghouse. Also, the dog house roof has a large bend and the replacement comes flat.
Do I have to heat these plastics and bend them to match the originals? What have you guys done with yours?
Thanks.
I purchased new playfield and plastics but have not opened the box to look at them. I will look at mine this weekend. I would email CPR and asked them what they recommend
Quoted from ManyQuarters:The side art blades are from Retro Refurbs based in the UK. I liked the product and it was reasonably priced with more than patience required for shipping / customs costs /currency exchange. Mine took about a month to get to rural Canada last year. I ordered two, one for BC and one for Atlantis. Multiple or bulk orders would be the way to go to save on shipping.
Thanks for sharing the information.
System 11 games are rock solid. Check the MPU for any type of battery acid damage. Good chance the ramps are cracked. Starship fantasy has the ramps. Plastics are available through classic playfield reproductions. You will find other stuff on ebay.
I know my wife wanted so bad and we looked for one over 4 years. We paid 2200 for ours and it needs plastics playfield and ramps. When I get some time I will post photos of the playfield swap.
Quoted from wackenhut:Anyone know where the best place to buy new rubbers for the machine? Preferably white.
Thank you.
You can buy silicone rings in white from Titan Pinball.
If you want rubber rings you can find those online at many pinball parts suppliers
Quoted from ClarkKent:Does anybody habe a scan of the tiger ramp decal (the one on the underside of the ramp with the tiger on it)?
Contact starship fantasy they make replacement ramps and decals.
Quoted from wackenhut:Would anybody know why the ball gets stuck between where the metal meets the flipper when going through the in-lane?
Please take a photo......Thanks
Quoted from wackenhut:So I am looking to change the bulbs and rubbers under the fishbowl ramp at the top center under the collect jackpot decal. Does the whole ramp need to come off it order to do that? Looks like a pain.
Yes you will need to remove the ramp to gain access to the bulbs....Take photos during disassembly
Find one is like finding a needle in a hay stack. My wife and I looked for one for 3 years that was in ok shape and the boards were clean and it became a bidding war for the one we purchased. Needed new plastics new ramps and a playfield
Quoted from Pinkitten:This is the first post here in 71 days? Not enough Cats owners out there! I’m joining the club this weekend. Adding a local example in good condition at a reasonable price, with the added bonus of a new CPR gold pf, brand new ramps, plastics, etc. I’m going to do a full restore on it, probably with Radcals, new Xpin display, new legs and rails, all new rubber and bulbs. Should be a beauty when it’s finished. I’ll post pics when it’s done!
We have a new playfield plastics and new ramps......And no spare time.....
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:Seems like an awful lot for one that hasn't even been swapped. I mean, I love my Bad Cats as much as the next guy but for anywhere NEAR that kind of money I'd be hard pressed to say no. $6K?!
Yes I agree pin pricing is out of bounds. I'm at a point I can't afford to buy a pin right now.
Quoted from jrcmlc:CPR just made 7 playfields available.
I have one at home but not enough time to install it. Wife wanted Dogs and that ended my fun time.
Quoted from jrcmlc:Hypothetically if someone was considering building a bad cats from scratch, where does that go pear shaped? Trying to find the linear target comes to mind, but what else?
I'm confused about the pear shaped?
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:I don’t think that’s correct. All the other boards show 563 271961. The low serial number board shows 575 which is not Bad Cats.
What is the correct serial number? I'm confused why Williams would have those numbers.
I guess someone swap some boards at some point. I have not serviced any of the boards since buying the game. The seller told be the pin was from the Midwest and bought in a package deal. My wife wanted Bad Cats and we started looking for one in 2017 and finally found one in the summer 2019. I purchased replacement ramps plastics and the playfield. Now she is not sure if we should swap out the playfield.
It's awesome to see some people share their serial numbers with the group. I'm going to inbox my CPR playfield and take some photos. I'm currently working on my car. Will post later.
Quoted from jrcmlc:If you go back a few pages you can see the cluster I got from cpr and then the replacement that was less shitty. Lol
I remember that post. I told my wife she should look at it and of course she did not.
Quoted from jrcmlc:Look especially for greasy fingerprints and smudges underthr clear and the t nuts under the seafood window being cross threaded and not installed right and gouges and scratches.
Thanks for your help.
