Hello there. I have a Data East MNF. Today when it turned on there was a loud hum from inside, opening theme talking "Welcome to Monday Night Football...", was distorted and score display flickered various areas on and off. Although it completed start up checks and seems to play, obviously something wrong. I opened the bottom and other than speaker sound saw/smelled nothing amiss. I opened the top and under close inspection found some burning on a circuit board and saw some lights/sparks from behind the board. I believe this is a power board but am not sure. I have attached a pic of the noticeably burned board (inside yellow box). I am assuming I need to replace this part but wanted to run it by the experts first. Can you advise, please?

C7 has leaked and is damaging the traces nearby. Get it to someone who has experience repairing such things. If it's not repaired properly it will fail in the future.

Rob, thank you so much for replying to my inquiry! C7 being the cylinder above and right of yellow box, correct? Instead of repair, new "drop-in" boards are apparently available, maybe cheaper than repair. Are these recommended, I would hate to ruin more than a power board!

Rob, I just saw you are a board tech and I assume "circuit board".... Can I mail to board to you for repairs?

Just to answer the other question you asked -- www.pinballpcb.com that you linked to as a replacement board is the only replacement for 7-11a boards that I would trust. But I was under the impression he wasn't shipping boards anylonger. Hope that isn't true...

But like others mentioned -- Rob can get you fixed up.
