A structure like that here would not pass any zoning here. In a single family residential area, with restrictions on building square footage ratio to lot size. It would have to have a garage door on it. Being a garage in a residential area there are also restrictions on the height of the structure.

Keep us posted, on your progress, congrats.

It has been great to see the progress. Keep the reports and photos coming.

Looking at the latest photos, for sure that structure would not be approved by my local government, for a residential zoned lot.

    "LOVE SHACK!"

All though 'Arcade Station' does sound good too.

Large roll up door? Sliding Barn Door? There are a few options.

An Inspector might come around. If they see a violation from the street, or if a neighbor complains, then you will receive a notice to comply with the building code by a certain date. The main problem is when you go to sell it in the future, a potential buyer will shy away from your home if the building is not up to code, or they will ask for a discount in your asking price to be able for them to get the building up to code. Some buyers will not care, but their lender might.

    Quoted from Chosen_S:

    Final inspection completed...

So what is happening to the access to the 2nd floor from the inside? Spiral Staircase? Firemans Pole? Rope ladder? Long ladder with a handrail? Or are you just going to use that attic access ladder? Hey, We want to know.
