Are the games going against that brick siding? If your looking to go wild with it get a graffite artist to spray florescent pinball related stuff on it. Just a fun thought.

Good thought, I know of 2 graffiti artists, one is maybe me, when I have the patience, the other is an unreliable addict that can paint some really mad skill type stuff. Unfortunately I may be the guy :-/

Cool if you could do it. Like I said it's a crazy idea and once you start there's no going back because of what your spraying on.

The fumes from a spray paint can have ruined many of us over the years.

Yes, I always wear a respirator now, even while caulking this evening I had it on, I get used to it.

That still happens with the respirator by the way

On another note; the camera on my phone stopped working. I finished putting up the brick paneling last night, looks good. I need to find grout the same color as the paneling and fix the seams and cover the screws.

I'm picturing it in my mind...and it is spectacular!

    #412 7 months ago

Be careful with the grout as it gets into the pores of the brick panelling face and discolors it/makes hard to get out. Try getting a mortar caulk that matches. Easier in MY opinion.

    #413 7 months ago

Love the metal frame on foundation you started with, looks a lot like the start of a production office. I bet that 2nd floor is sturdy as hell.

Fantastic idea! Thank you! I knew I was waiting to approach that piece of the project for some reason

Thank you, It’s been great not having any center pole supports in the first floor. My engineer tells me I can fill that second floor with machines, and have 100 people go up there., Don’t know if I ever will have that many up there or want to have that many up there, but it’s a good thought

Saturday morning workout... Time to give my old lady her security back, we haven’t had any trouble not having any gates. Now that most of the large materials have been installed, We figured it was time to get this going.

Big shout out to my father-in-law for this one, he’s come over a few mornings to knock this out for us. He’s been wanting to help on this project and this was right up his alley, the man builds a fine gate. So far this is the only piece of the building that I have literally not lifted a finger to do, this guy is my superman.

Dang boys, work has been crazy busy! Finally progress !

My phone has been broken, so pics have been scarce

I'm surprised you didn't go with a barn look and feel, and a overhead hay bale lift outside the building after it was inspected and approved Forgo the inside lift thing you were considering. Looks cool, congratulations on a long project.

So I’m going with glass window garage door on second floor so you can open it up when you want and have or will have a safety railing

    More work for the day.

Also sent my boys on a scavenger hunt first thing this morning.

And... celebrated nothing with a new bottle of bourbon

Playing with some LED lighting, and working on a door for where the lift will go.

Oh yeah... Also, I have all of my electricity switches now controlling everything they’re supposed to. It’s taken a while, but this was a big hurdle.

Looking better every week, or so......."we" have been wondering what was the latest....

Great work, and a fantastic project....I can not imagine that not too many others here that would take on such a costly and labor-intensive adventure as this...

    It’s definitely been a challenge

I figured out all of my smart switches last night, really cool to be able to control all the lighting from my phone and a stand-alone multi switch I can mount in the house

For the hub, I’m using SmartThings by Samsung

The switches are GE z-wave plus.

I also bought a garage door opener that is made by .... (I’ll look it up, don’t remember)

And a multi switch by remotech Zrc-90 (this one was a booger to figure out)

    Quoted from MustangPaul:

I can’t wait to see it too, I get giddy every time I think about building it

    #432 6 months ago

Got the door installed, what a chore! Had to chop off the top of the pre made door frame and lifted up the door in a special way to get everything to fit properly, no worries! Got it done.

Dudes, it’s been hot, I mean HOT!

And I’ve been surfing , so not much progress.

Put in another window frame and started the t&g on the exterior

Big shout out “Screw you!” To myself for leaving the t&g wood out in the sun for 2 weeks, lesson learned. Warpage everywhere.

    Whatever.

There's no way you could put a small window unit in it and just work on the inside?

    #439 5 months ago
    Quoted from MustangPaul:

There's no way you could put a small window unit in it and just work on the inside?

The inside stays between 85-90, with fans on, its quite pleasant, the inside needs trim and the trim painted on the bottom floor, carpet, baseboards, led lighting, bar.

The up stairs needs a few drywall things touched up, trim, paint, carpet, baseboards, lighting, outlets, outlet and switch covers.

The exterior needs trim, pine siding, siding stain, winch lift, window shade awning

I’m sure I’m missing some things, pretty much a few solid weeks pushing things forward would take care of things to get to a final
But the heat kills the exterior work, and the up stairs is lacking a large window.

Any goodpublic places to play pinball in odessa/midland Area? I have work stuff there about once per month. Looking for something to do, instead of sitting inside my $350 per night hotel room! Haha!

Once this gr is done hit me up, my place is the only good place... otherwise, Cinergy Theater in Odessa on hwy191 has 2 not very well maintained pins; twd, got.

Hotel prices here are stupid. If I were smart I would install a bathroom in my gr and rent a room out (add extra for access to pins, lol)
