Santa has blessed our family with a plethora of Nerf dart guns this Christmas, hooraaay! I’m not sure if they have enough power to shatter a backglass, but I’m not going to wait around and find out the hard way. I picked up some shelving, paint and plexiglass. Then threw in some screws and fishing line. Here’s what I came up with.

The fishing line passes through a couple of small holes at the bottom of the plexiglass, wraps around the back, and hooks on screws at the back of the top shelf to keep the assembly tight and secured in place.

Gives me a little piece of mind. FIRE AWAY!!

Good point PJ. Would some LEDs help with the heat?

I usually turn my machines off when I’m done playing, so they’re only on for 30 minutes or so at a time.

I could stick a little spacer at each corner to space it off of the head maybe 1/8” or so.

Do they have LEDs that are close to the lumen output and color temp of the incandescents? I haven’t checked into LEDs for Pinball much.

I do have an infrared thermometer! That’s a good idea! Thanks Jay.

Quoted from Darcy:

Very inventive. Great solution.

Thanks Darcy!

Got some little rubber feet for spacers, we’ll see if that helps.
