I just got finished replacing the bottom lift channel on the backglass of my TOTAN. When doing so, do not try to slide it on. It will be extremely difficult. Instead, do the following:

1. Lay the backglass facedown on a towel on top of a table with the bottom edge of the backglass hanging over the table
2. Center the bottom lift channel along the edge
3. With a rubber mallet or a hammer, lightly tap the lift channel into place. You may want to hold a 2x4 over the channel so you are tapping the wood not the plastic channel

Enjoy!

I wish someone had posted this before I tried to repair mine...

Doing this in a couple of days after glass is finished. Thanks for the heads up.

So whats a good way to remove a lift channel? I will be replacing my BG soon with a new one, appears previous owner "Triple Thicked " the back and did not remove the trim or the lift channel while doing it. Even though I'am replacing the BG, I dont want to break it! Thanks.

You should be able to pull it right off. Just be careful.

I had to use a very thin and flexible putty knife to get mine off. You have to insert the knife and take it out; "Don't" try to slide the blade down the channel, just insert and out all the way across. I had to go this route with mine due to it having a very thin two-way tape strip in the channel. Don't know if that is standard in older pins such as mine (Gottlieb) or not but, if you try to just pull it off something will break.
